High School Student Council is holding elections for the following positions: Senior Class Treasurer; Senior, Junior, and Sophomore Class Representatives, and all Freshman class offices. If you are interested in running for office, complete an application. See the Student Council webpage for the application link and information about election procedures. The Central Magnet TableTop Boardgaming Club will have an informational meeting next Wednesday, August 24th at 3:15pm in the Senior Cafeteria. We will not be playing games at this meeting; instead we will discuss the election of club officers, the meeting schedule, club dues, and club member expectations. The meeting will last approximately thirty minutes, so be sure to have a ride ready by 3:45pm. Contact Mr. Harper with any questions.

DECA will be meeting during Rotation B in the senior cafeteria next week. This will be our 1st informational meeting for the school year. Check the school DECA club page for more information. You may also stop by Room 210 to get a printed copy of the membership forms.
Are you a junior or senior with a love for science along with high grades in you science classes? If so, come to the Science National Honors Society meeting during B club rotation on Monday 8/22 in room 131! We will discuss how to apply for membership and the open officer positions.
Any middle school students interested in joining the middle school book club this year, please go to the middle school club website and fill out the interest form. All interested students need to complete the form before August the 22nd.
The counselors will begin meeting seniors today. Students should report to their counselor at the time of their appointment.

The Middle School Girls’ Basketball team will have an additional tryout in October for the upcoming season. If you would plan to try out, please stop by this week and see Mrs. Sissom in room 238.
There will be a middle school and high school swim team informational meeting on Tuesday, August 23rd at 5:30pm. This will be a Zoom meeting. If you are interested in trying out for the swim team, please fill out the Google doc on the swim team website. An email will be required so that Coach Wagner may send out the Zoom link for the meeting. Please email Coach Wagner if you have any questions or are unable to attend the meeting. If you have been on the swim team before, please keep an eye out for an email from Coach Wagner.
The high school volleyball team opened their 2022 season with a convincing 25-8, 25-10, 25-11 win over Giles County. Senior Mia Finley led the way with 6 kills, and Junior Noella Obi added 5. Juniors Grace Martindale and Emma Grace Smith each picked up double digit aces! The Tigers return to action today as they travel to Watertown for a JV-Varsity doubleheader. Their first home game will be Thursday night against Tullahoma- please make plans to attend.
Your Middle School Lady Tiger Soccer team kicked off the season yesterday with a vivacious 8-0 victory over LaVergne. Catherine Zubkus, Abbey Mott, and Lillie Bryant each blasted two goals; Vegas and Caroline Bogle each scored one. Bogle also had two assists in the game, while Zubkus, Elizabeth Hamilton, and Sarah Zaza each had one. The defense dominated as well, refusing to give up a single shot on goal. The girls play again this Thursday at Rocky Fork.
The high school girl's soccer team defeated Lawrence Co. 10-1 last night to move to 2-0 for the season. Goals came from Claudia Mitchell, Lydia Parkerson, Maria Kime, Mckayla Nolan, Ayanna Perry, Reily Gusman, and Julia Ann Hamilton. Sofia Kime, Josie Bush, Reily Gusman, and Lydia Parkerson all had assists.
The JV won 9-0. Breanna Gonzalez, Madisyn Boddie, Elle Cummings, Yasmin Zekry, Claire Parkerson, Nicole Bryson, and Lydia Parkerson all scored.
