The Central Magnet TableTop Boardgaming Club will have an informational meeting next Wednesday, August 24th at 3:15pm in the Senior Cafeteria. We will not be playing games at this meeting; instead we will discuss the election of club officers, the meeting schedule, club dues, and club member expectations. The meeting will last approximately thirty minutes, so be sure to have a ride ready by 3:45pm. Contact Mr. Harper with any questions.
DECA will be meeting during Rotation B in the senior cafeteria next week. This will be our 1st informational meeting for the school year. Check the school DECA club page for more information. You may also stop by Room 210 to get a printed copy of the membership forms.
Are you a junior or senior with a love for science along with high grades in your science classes? If so, come to the Science National Honors Society meeting during B club rotation on Monday 8/22 in room 131! We will discuss how to apply for membership and the open officer positions.
Tri-M is a music honor society that welcomes any 6th-12th grade students who are currently enrolled in band, strings, or choir. Hello Spanish students! The National Spanish Honor Society will kick off this school year with their first meeting THIS MONDAY, during B Rotation, in Ms Pinson's room, #208. The McDonalds at 106 SE Broad St (corner of SE Broad and Church St) is supporting CMS this year. Next week, August 22- August 26, they are hosting ""Fries for Supplies"". 10% of their sales from a la carte fry orders will be donated back to Central Magnet School. Fries associated with a meal do not count but fries ordered separately do. The following week on Tuesday, August 30 they will donate 20 % of all sales between 5-8 pm back to CMS. You do not have to state they are with the school or show any identification, just show up and purchase.

Students and Teachers, don't forget we are able to recycle paper and cardboard in each classroom and the hall. Ask your teacher to show you the recycle bin if you are unsure of it's location.
A fire can breakout with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be. Know your emergency evacuation routes at school and at home. Don’t forget to identify a secondary evacuation route in case your primary route is not available.
There will be a middle school and high school swim team informational meeting on Tuesday, August 23rd at 5:30pm. This will be a Zoom meeting. If you are interested in trying out for the swim team, please fill out the Google doc on the swim team website. An email will be required so that Coach Wagner may send out the Zoom link for the meeting. Please email Coach Wagner if you have any questions or are unable to attend the meeting. If you have been on the swim team before, please keep an eye out for an email from Coach Wagner.
The Central Magnet High School Cross Country team competed in their first race of the season Saturday night under the lights at Siegel. Mikayla Morrell and Ty Brown led their teams in a night of fast 2 mile times. Your Tiger striders will run their first 5k this weekend at the Coleman Midgett Invitational in Hendersonville.
The high school volleyball team participated in the 2022 Cougar Classic at MTCS over the weekend. The Tigers defeated Harding Academy, but lost matches to Trinity, Notre Dame, PCA and Coffee County. An away game on Tuesday at Cannon County awaits, before returning home on Thursday for a huge match against district rival Lawrence County.
The high school volleyball team moved to 2-0 in District play on Thursday night. A 4 set match saw the Tigers win 25-17 in the 1st set before losing 25-18 in the 2nd. Behind an awesome turnout and incredible energy from the Stripe Squad the tigers won sets 3 and 4 25-22 and 25-18. The win was a total team effort. We would like to encourage everyone to come out next Thursday for a huge district matchup with Lawrence County.
