The Central Magnet TableTop Boardgaming Club will have an informational meeting Wednesday, August 24th at 3:15pm in the Senior Cafeteria. We will not be playing games at this meeting; instead we will discuss the election of club officers, the meeting schedule, club dues, and club member expectations. The meeting will last approximately thirty minutes, so be sure to have a ride ready by 3:45pm. Contact Mr. Harper with any questions.
The Central Entrepreneurship Organization, or C.E.O., is hosting an interest meeting after school on Monday the 29th until 3:45pm in Ms. Taylor's room (222). Any student interested in business or snacks is welcome to attend.

Do you love musicals or discussing your favorite ones with friends and family? Then you should join the Musical Theatre club! Any student interested in learning should attend our first meeting this Friday before school at 7:30am in Mrs. Sweet's room! Musical theatre club is open to both middle and high school students.
The high school science Olympiad team will have its first interest meeting this Thursday after school on August 25th from 3:13-3:45 in room 132. The competition this year is scheduled to be in person for the first time in 2 years! For more details see Mr. J Burns in room 132.
The McDonalds at 106 SE Broad St (corner of SE Broad and Church St) is supporting CMS this year. This week, August 22- August 26, they are hosting ""Fries for Supplies"". 10% of their sales from a la carte fry orders will be donated back to Central Magnet School. Fries associated with a meal do not count but fries ordered separately do. The following week on Tuesday, August 30 they will donate 20 % of all sales between 5-8 pm back to CMS. You do not have to state they are with the school or show any identification, just show up and purchase.
Students and Teachers, don't forget we are able to recycle paper and cardboard in each classroom and the hall. Ask your teacher to show you the recycle bin if you are unsure of it's location.
A fire can breakout with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be. Know your emergency evacuation routes at school and at home. Don’t forget to identify a secondary evacuation route in case your primary route is not available.
The high school girl's soccer team will host Warren County tonight at 5:30. Central students get in free!
The Middle School Lady Tiger soccer team suffered their first loss of the season last night in a heartbreaker to Stewart's Creek. After being down 3-0 in the first half, Catherine Zubkus scored one goal and Molly Glover scored two to even the score. Then, with only 23 seconds remaining, Stewart's Creek was able to float one into the top of the net for the 4-3 victory. The 2-1 Lady Tigers will be back in action tomorrow, at home, versus Oakland. In JV action, Central started their season with a convincing 9-0 victory over the visiting Stewarts Creek with two goals a piece from Abbi Junkins and Amelia Bogle and one goal each for Abbey Mott, Emersyn Gusman, Elizabeth Hamilton, Laila Warren and Avery Dale.
The high school girl's soccer team defeated Warren Co. 6-0 lst night. Julia Ann Hamilton had a man of the match performance with 2 goals and an assist. Reily Gusman had a goal and two assists. Avery Stojokovich scored and had an assist. Rose Drowota and Claudia Mitchell rounded off the scoring, and Alex Woods added a late assist. The girls travel to Gatlinburg this weekend to compete in the Smoky Mtn. Cup.
The high school volleyball team picked up a decisive straight set victory over Cannon County Tuesday, to move to 3-0 in district play. Senior Brooke Filaroski led the way with 14 aces, 2 digs and 8 aces. Mia Finley had 9 kills and 10 aces. Emma Grace Smith chipped in 4 aces, 4 digs and 2 assists.
The tigers host district rival Lawrence County on Thursday night. Stripe Squad has big things planned so make sure to attend.
