The Writing Lab will open today, August 25th during 6th period. We have moved this year and are in room 104. Schedule an appointment online through our website, or walk-in. We will be open 6th period on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Email Mrs. Eubanks with questions.

The Central Entrepreneurship Organization, or C.E.O., is hosting an interest meeting after school on Monday the 29th until 3:45pm in Ms. Taylor's room (222). Any student interested in business or snacks is welcome to attend. 

Jr Beta members looking for your next service project-- please sign up under the Beta TEAMS! This is our Linus community project for September.  

Reminder for Spanish Honor Society Students -- Your dues and application are due THIS FRIDAY, August 26th! Form is online, remit payment to Sra Kime or Sra Pinson.  

MESA de ESPAÑOL (Spanish Round Table) begins this coming Monday on C Rotation! We eat, speak, and have fun! No correction, just building confidence and fluency! Come by Mrs Pinson's Room Monday and see what it is all about! 

Do you love musicals or discussing your favorite ones with friends and family? Then you should join the Musical Theatre club! Any student interested in learning should attend our first meeting this Friday before school at 7:30am in Mrs. Sweet's room! Musical theatre club is open to both middle and high school students.  

The high school science Olympiad team will have its first interest meeting today, August 25th after school  from 3:13-3:45 in room 132. The competition this year is scheduled to be in person for the first time in 2 years! For more details see Mr. J Burns in room 132. 

International thespian society is the theatre club at Central and will meet during C club rotation which is this coming up this Monday. We have some exciting plans for the club this school year. Any student who is interested in learning more should stop by during club rotation on Monday. You do not have to be a theatre student to join and it is open to both middle and high school students. Please see Mrs. Sweet if you have any more questions!  

Mu Alpha Theta will be meeting next Monday the 29th during C club rotation in room 100. We are a math honorary that celebrates our love of math by participating in both group and individual competitions! This will be our first meeting of the year and we are excited to welcome new and existing members. We hope to see you all there! 

The McDonalds at 106 SE Broad St (corner of SE Broad and Church St) is supporting CMS this year. This week, August 22- August 26, they are hosting ""Fries for Supplies"".  10% of their sales from a la carte fry orders will be donated back to Central Magnet School. Fries associated with a meal do not count but fries ordered separately do. Next week on Tuesday, August 30 they will donate 20 % of all sales between 5-8 pm back to CMS. You do not have to state they are with the school or show any identification, just show up and purchase. 

Students and Teachers, don't forget we are able to recycle paper and cardboard in each classroom and the hall.  Ask your teacher to show you the recycle bin if you are unsure of it's location. 

Your middle school girls soccer team defeated Oakland yesterday by the score of 6-1. After giving up an early goal, the Lady Tigers rattled off six straight to close out the game. Abbey Mott and Emersyn Gusman each scored two goals; Lillie Bryant and Caroline Bogle also put one in the back of the net. Catherine Zubkus led the team with two assists; Bryant and Avery Dale had one apiece. The defense dominated the game only allowing three shots on goal. The team is now 3-1 on the season.  

The Middle School Volleyball teams defeated LaVergne Middle School last night for their 4th win in a row for the season.  We play at Oakland Monday and at home against Smyrna Middle Wednesday.  Come out and cheer on your lady tigers.   

The high school volleyball team will be hosting district rival Lawrence County tonight. Come out and support Tiger volleyball! 5:00 JV with varsity to follow. Pizza will be provided (first come, first served) while it lasts, and as always students get in free!

August 27 at Weichart Realty at 511 N. Thompson Lane, packing meals for the hungry from 9-11 or 11-1.
