High School Students:  For those interested in earning the Seal of Biliteracy, there will be a meeting TODAY at 3:15 in Mrs. Dixon's Room - Room #221.  We'll discuss what steps you need to take to receive this prestigious award.  Juniors & Seniors are especially encouraged to attend.  

Mu Alpha Theta Math Honorary is happy to Announce that Peer Tutoring will begin before and after school beginning today from 7:15-7:45 and 3:15-4:00 in Ms. Smithson's room (100).  No appointment necessary...just come and get help with your math homework or come get help before your next test!  We would love to see you there! This is for Middle and High school students and we are available every Wednesday!! We will post signs in your math classrooms later this week! 

Hello, Everyone! Please help choose the theme for our first book fair this year! You can vote beginning at 8:00 on the CMS homepage. The link will read, "Middle school council and book fair theme voting." All students, middle and high, can vote.  

There will be an interest meeting for Beta members wanting to participate in Living Literature, this Thursday at 3:15 in the Senior Cafeteria.   

Support your  CMS Tigers in Togas!  Latin Club is selling t-shirts.  You don't need to be in Latin to show your support.  Only $15!  The price will definitely go up next year!  See Magistra Henson in room 225 for an order form.  Sale ends this Friday.  Act NOW! 

HS Beta members interested in competing at this year's convention need to fill out the interest form on the club website no later than September 22.  New competitions have been added.  Please reference the convention handbook for competition descriptions. 

Current Global Issues is hosting a food drive for Nourish Food Bank. Items are being collected in college corner, in the front office, and in room 345 in the annex. If you have any questions, contact Jackie Dummermuth or Aleeza Razzaq. 

Middle School Student Council Election is today during Central Time. If you are a middle school student, please go to the Central's website at the beginning of Central Time. You will see a link that says: 'Click here to vote in the Fall Middle School Class Officer Elections.' Click there to cast your vote. Thank you for your participation, and good luck to the candidates! 

Tickets for the high school fall play are on sale online now! "Play On!" is a story of a theatre group trying desperately to put on a play in spite of maddening interference from a haughty author who keeps revising the script. Performances are next Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9/22-9/24 at 7pm and Sunday, 9/25, at 5pm. Find a play poster hanging somewhere in the school to scan the QR code to get your tickets in advance. tickets will also be sold at the door. $10 for adults. $5 for students  

The Counseling Department will begin meeting individually with juniors on Monday, Sept. 12 through Sept. 21. Teachers, please allow students to come to Guidance a few minutes before their scheduled time. Juniors, please do no wait to be called from class, just come to Guidance a few minutes before your appointment.  

Any sixth grade Central girls who are interested in starting a Cadette Girl Scout Troop that will meet one Monday per month after school, please have a parent contact [email protected].  

HS tennis will be having a spirit night at Blaze pizza on Medical Center Parkway on Thursday, September 15 from 5-9pm. Flyers to present at the location are available from Coach Angel or from HS players, or you can take a photo to present. Please come out to support your high school tennis team.  

Good morning, are you looking for a fun way to earn some service hours? The HS basketball teams are looking for a student or students who would be interested in running the digital scorer's table video board during the games.  

We are also looking for someone who can help with the design and creation of animated advertisements, videos etc.  that will be displayed on the tables video board. If this sounds like your thing then please see Coach Bush or Coach Worsley at your earliest convenience.  

If you are interested in joining the archery team, there will be a parent meeting on Tuesday, September 20th at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria.  This meeting will be to discuss the upcoming season, expectations and registration requirements.  For more information, please go to the Archery Registration page or see Coach Bonanno. 

The high school girl's soccer team celebrated Senior night last night with a 9-0 win over Marshall Co.  All four seniors scored on the night. These wonderful ladies, Brooke Hamilton, Rose Drowota, Shelby Clark, and Maria Kime, have worked tirelessly over the past four years to make this soccer program a success,  Additional goal scorers included Avery Stojokovich, Julia Ann Hamilton, and Madisyn Boddie.  The girls move to 8-2 on the season and 3-0 in district play. 

The girls middle school soccer team suffered a tough loss last night to the league leading Siegel Stars to drop to 6 and 3 on the season. Taylor Ertl and Vegas Vaughn each had 5 saves in goal. In the following match, the JV girls were defeated for the first time this season. Charlotte Kerr and Abbey Mott combined for 15 saves in the game. After a long streak of road games, your Lady Tigers return home to play Buchanan this Thursday at 4:30. See you there!
