SNHS is hosting Professor Nate Callendar from the Aerospace Department at MTSU on Wednesday the 28th at 3:15 in the Senior Cafeteria. This event is open to anyone who is interested in hearing him speak, but for SNHS members it will be an opportunity to earn two points. You can earn one point for attending and one for bringing snacks or refreshments.
Student Council is selling Central Magnet yard signs. There are over 20 different designs that include fine arts, sports teams, and general Central signs. Attention All Students: As usual, we will have Reading Rooms available this Friday during the pep rally, mid-morning activities, and afternoon activities. The Middle School sign up sheets are posted upstairs by Ms. Hale’s room and High School sign up sheets are posted on the auditorium doors. When you sign up, please print your name NEATLY and MAKE NOTE OF WHICH ROOM you will report to.
Students should not need to go anywhere while in the reading rooms (except the restroom). This is not a punishment but is rather an opportunity for students who enjoy a quieter atmosphere to avoid the noise and crowds of Spirit Day. Once a student is in the room, he or she is to remain there until the next activity.
Congratulations to Owen Zubkus who ended another impressive post season run yesterday at the Regional Tournament. Owen led the Tigers in every match this year and will return for his senior season in 2023.
The Lady Tiger Golf Team became the first in school history to win their regional championship and earn a trip to the TSSAA State Championships next Thursday and Friday in Sevierville, TN. The Tiger ""Young Guns"" were led by 8th grader Lauren Powell's 76, and freshman Ellie Schmackle fired an 83 to give the girls a team score of 159, beating second place Rockvale and Lincoln County by 12 strokes. 8th grader Anna Powell fired an 86 which means any combination of these girls' scores would have won Central Magnet the championship. Good luck next week to the Lady Tiger Golfers!"
Any middle school girls interested in playing softball for the spring season is encouraged to fill out an interest survey. This survey can be found on Coach O'Hara teacher page under links or you can stop by her office located in the gymnasium. No previous playing experience is required! Please fill out this survey by Friday, Sept 30. Season information is forthcoming!
Attention Middle Schoolers. If you are interested in participating in the kickball games Friday during Spirit Day, you must get a form from your Social Studies teacher today. All completed and signed forms must be turned in to Mrs. Kime by end of school day on Tuesday, September 27th. As permission slips are turned in, members are assigned to teams until all spots have been filled.
The Middle School volleyball team defeated Smyrna in our first match of the district tournament. They take on Stewarts Creek tonight at 6:30 at Blackman Middle school. Leading the team with 6 Aces was Olivia Koffman, followed by Ava Douglas with 4 aces, Jada Eskinde with 3 aces, and Emery Bland with 2 aces.
The High school girl's soccer team will host Tullahoma after school today at 4pm with JV to follow. Come out for the tailgate and follow it up with a free soccer match.
The Middle School Girls Soccer team advanced to the district semifinals last night with a thrilling overtime victory over Stewart’s Creek. Landry LaPointe scored with less than a minute left in regulation to tie the game, 2-2. In penalty kicks, Lillie Bryant, Hadley Guthrie, Molly Glover, and Taylor Ertl all converted their attempts to out-duel the Creek 4-3! Ertl’s great game in goal was capped off with the winning save as she stopped the final PK for the win. Next up, the girls take on Siegel, this Wednesday at 4:15 to determine who advances to the championship.
