Senior Calista Haynes has set up therapy dog visits for her thesis this Friday during sixth-period in the library. Library passes will be available in fifteen-minute increments during all of sixth-period. Passes during that time will only be for midterm therapy dog visits and students may get one pass during that period. There will be sign up sheets on the library doors- spots are first come first serve and will fill quickly! We look forward to seeing you sixth-period on Friday for free therapy!

Today during CT all middle schoolers will get to participate in the Great History Challenge. Teachers with middle school students in their 6th period CT class, don't forget to have their log in codes ready. You should have received an email from Coach Lanier with instructions. Winners will be announced and could possibly move on to a Regional Competition and maybe even to a competition at the National level! Oh, and do you know why the Pilgrims sailed to America? Because it was too far to swim!!
DECA will be hosting a Middle School Dance for grades 6th-8th on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tickets will be $10 and sold at the door. The theme for the dance will be Winter Wonderland. Wear your favorite Christmas outfit and be ready to dance the night away with your friends!

Rho Kappa is collecting soda tabs this holiday season for the Ronald McDonald's House at Vanderbilt's Children's Hospital. They collect aluminum pull tabs from any container (soda pop, soup, pet food, etc.) and work with a local recycler to turn those tabs into money for families of seriously ill or injured children receiving medical treatment at Nashville area hospitals. Our group is collecting these until December 15th. Any donation can be sent to Mr. Eldridge's room (115).

The audition packet for the high school spring musical, The Sound of Music, is now available on Mrs. Sweet's website. Vocal auditions are Wednesday, December 14. Make sure to sign up for a time slot using the signup genius link that is located in the audition packet. There will be three middle school roles offered for this musical. Middle school students interested in auditioning should read the audition packet carefully and email Mrs. Sweet.
The middle school cheer squad will be having their last Spirit Night TODAY at Panda Express on Memorial Blvd to raise funds for nationals in February. The event will take place from the time they open (10:30 AM) until closing (9 PM). All you have to do is let them know you're there for the middle school cheer squad and we will receive a portion of the funds. Thank you, and we hope to see you there!
The Central Magnet Tigers improved to 5-1 on the season with a 77-71 victory over Maplewood last night. The Tigers were led by Mason Brown with 21 pts, Carson Wood with 14 points, Jake Maddox, Will Becker added 11 each and Owen Zubkus chipped in 9 points. The Tigers will return to action on Friday when they travel to Hillwood to take on the Hilltoppers.
The middle school cheerleading squad is excited to announce that we are selling a vintage CMS sweatshirt. It is available in both youth and adult sizes. A portion of the proceeds will support our squad as we raise funds for nationals in February. The last day to purchase a sweatshirt is December 11th. The delivery will be on January 6th. The Lady Tigers got off to a 1-0 start in District as they defeated Maplewood last night 62-40. The Lady Tigers were led in scoring by Addison Melton with 21pts and 4 assist (Addison also eclipsed 1000 career points), Olivia Hart chipped in 20pts, Julia Stuible added 10pts, Bethany Jackson had 7pts and Reilly McMillian contributed 5pts. The Lady Tigers will be back in action Friday at Hillwood and back home on Saturday at 3pm vs Forrest.
Congratulation the the middle school boys basketball team for their win over Rocky Fork Monday night 34- 24. Kai Jones lead all scorers with 11 points and Hollis Jackson and Kason Puffer added 7.
