Homecoming is Friday, January 27th! We will be having a variety show. You can audition for the show by uploading a video to the Flipgrid posted on the High School Student Council website. There is also a Form linked to the Flipgrid that you must fill out. High School and Middle School students can all audition. Auditions are due by Wednesday, January 11th. Please see Dr. Hines or Mr. Click if you have any questions.  You will need to sign in to Flipgrid with your school credentials. 

Middle School Youth in Government is holding an interest meeting Wednesday, January 18th. The club offers students an introduction to the Tennessee Legislature through bill creation and a one-day conference at the Tennessee Capital. The informational meeting will be in Ms. Cindy Davis's room, 240, after school until 4pm. Pick up in the middle school parking lot at 4pm. 

Beta and CORE club are joining together to donate to the Coldest Nights Coat Drive. They will be accepting new or lightly worn winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves from January 9th-31st. Donation bins will be in Mrs. SK's room, Dr. Roland's room, and Mrs. Hendrixson's room. 

The middle school track and field team will have a parent meeting for the upcoming season on Tuesday, January 10th at 6:00 pm in the senior cafeteria. If you have any questions, please see Coach Burns in room 132, 

The High School Swim Team had a fantastic swim meet this past Friday at the MTSC High School Invitational in Lebanon. The team as a whole took second place, with the men scoring the most points in the men's division, and the women placing second behind Green Hill High School. Congratulations to the following swimmers who placed first in at least one of their events: Taylor Walker, Jackie Dummermuth, Evie Riley, Kim Bao Nguyen, Evan Keegan, Cameron Conley, Jean Drugmand, and Parker Dawes. Congratulations to the following swimmers who qualified for Regionals in at least one of their events: Taylor Walker, Cameron Conley, Jean Drugmand, Cameron Walker, Evie Riley, Jackie Dummermuth, Evan Keegan, Sara Grace Terrell, Kim Bao Nguyen, George Harris, Sarah Gwen Arnold, Parker Dawes, Yao Xiao, and Joaquin Rios. Congratulations to the following swimmers who qualified for State: Jackie Dummermuth in the 100 Breaststroke, Parker Dawes in the 50 Freestyle, and Kim Bao Nguyen in the 100 Freestyle. The team will be back in the pool on Tuesday against Rockvale High School for their last division meet.  

The Middle School Swim Team had another great meet this past Saturday at the New Year's Invitational hosted at Riverdale High School. The team as a whole placed first with the women placing first and the men placing second in their divisions. Congratulations to the following swimmers who placed first in at least one of their events: Ashtyn Patterson, Allie Abbott, Chloe Roeder, Mady Oring, Benjamin Huang, Jake Bull, JT Parkerson, Charlie Hurst, Max Patel, and Harper Rose MacNeal. Congratulations to the following swimmers who qualified for Regionals in at least one of their events: Chloe Roeder, Harper Rose MacNeal, Mady Oring, JT Parkerson, Jay Williams, Benjamin Huang, Emily Guess, Max Patel, Allie Abbott, and Charlie Hurst.  

The Central Magnet Tigers defeated the Forrest Rockets 64-31 last night to improve to 13-6 on the season.  The Tigers were led in scoring by Mclain Martin with 18 points and Will Becker with 13 points. Mason Brown chipped in 9 points and Jake Maddox added 6 points.  The Tigers return to action tonight as they travel to Hume Fogg. JV is at 4:15 and Varsity at 7:30 pm 

The Lady Tigers are now 15-4 after defeating Forrest last night 62-49. The Lady Tigers was led in scoring by Olivia Hart with 19pts, Bethany Jackson had 13pts, Addison Melton finished with 12pts, Reese Carlisle had 11 pts, Reagan Brand chipped in 4pts and Reilly McMillan had 3pts. The Lady Tigers will be back in action tonight at Hume Fogg.
