Central Magnet’s STEM Clubs are hosting a STEM Fair at MTSU January 21 from 4-8 p.m. and are looking for additional volunteers. This is open to middle and high school students and is a great service opportunity for anyone looking for a fun way to get service hours. You can sign up to volunteer using the link on the front page of the CMS website or under Mr. Nichols webpage. 

Beta and CORE club are joining together to donate to the Coldest Nights Coat Drive. They will be accepting new or lightly worn winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves from January 9th-31st. Donation bins will be in Mrs. SK's room, Dr. Roland's room, and Mrs. Hendrixson's room. 

Seniors:  If you applied for the TN Promise scholarship, there is a mandatory meeting today in the Auditorium at 1:00.

The High School Swim Team had two great swim meets last week. On Tuesday, they had a great win against Rockvale High School, rounding out their division meets for the season. Congratulations to the following swimmers who placed first in at least one of their events: Taylor Walker, Evie Riley, Jackie Dummermuth, Kim Bao Nguyen, Evan Keegan, Cameron Conley, Jean Drugmand, Parker Dawes, Sara Grace Terrell, Taylor Kline, and Sarah Gwen Arnold. Congratulations to Peyton Walker for a new Regional cut in the 100 Breastroke and congratulations to Taylor Walker for qualifying for State in the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke.  They also had great wins against Siegel, Blackman and PCA on Saturday. Congratulations to the following swimmers who placed first in at least one of their events: Taylor Walker, Jackie Dummermuth, Evie Riley, Kim Bao Nguyen, Evan Keegan, Joaquin Rios, Jean Drugmand, Parker Dawes, Sara Grace Terrell, Nic Sands, Andrew Dickens, and Noah Koenig. Congratulations to Nic Sands, Noah Koenig, Kim Bao Nguyen, and Sara Grace Terrell for new Regional cuts and Jean Drugmand and Sara Grace Terrell for a new State Cut in 500 free. 

The Middle School Swim Team swam against Rockvale Middle School on Friday night and had some great swims and new Regional cuts. Congratulations to the following swimmers who placed first in at least one of their events: Ashtyn Patterson, Allie Abbott, Chloe Roeder, Mady Oring, Benjamin Huang, Jake Bull, JT Parkerson, Charlie Hurst, and Harper Rose MacNeal. Congratulations to JT Parkerson, Cooper Olson, and Jay Williams for new Regional cuts.  

The Central Magnet Tigers picked up a big district win last night when they defeated the visiting Valor Wildcats 76-38.  The Tigers were led in scoring by Mason Brown with 17 pts, Will Becker with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jake Maddox and Mclane Martin chipped in 9 each with Alex Perry and Alijah Dean adding 8 each. The Tigers improved their record to 15-6 on the seaon and will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Maplewood for a big district rematch.  

If you are interested in playing Golf for the Middle School team this year there will be a parent meeting Monday January 30th in room 242 at 3:30. You must have all information complete in dragonfly.  Contact Coach Meek if you or your parent are not able to attend.   

Today, Catie Waugh competes in the TSSAA Girls Individual State Bowling Championship. Her combined score of 988 in the sectional tournament placed her 19th highest in the entire state. Today she competes against 53 other bowlers from all across Tennessee. Good luck Catie! 

The Lady Tigers defeated Valor last night 47-11. The Lady tigers improved their district record to 6-0 and 17-4 overall. The lady tigers were led by Reilly McMillan with 19pts, 5 steal and 3 assist, Olivia Hart finished with 12pts and 6 rebounds, Addison Melton added 9pts and 5 assist, Julia Stuible finished with 4 pts and Bethany Jackson added 3pts. The lady tigers will be back in action on Friday at 2nd place Maplewood.
