Mesa de Español (Spanish Round Table) will not be able to meet this coming Monday during C Rotation due to preparation for the Spanish Honor Society's Induction Ceremony. Thanks! 

The BSU will be kicking of Black History Month with a field trip on February 1st to the National Museum of African American Music.  Those club members who are interested in participating should see Ms. Taylor to pick up a permission form. 

All members should check TEAMS for details about the event including the deadline for submitting your permission form. 

Beta and CORE club are joining together to donate to the Coldest Nights Coat Drive. They will be accepting new or lightly worn winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves from January 9th-31st. Donation bins will be in Mrs. SK's room, Dr. Roland's room, and Mrs. Hendrixson's room. 

Congratulations to Jacob Anderson for winning the MATHCOUNTS middle school math competition this past Friday.  Eli Bauer and Cohen Jennings tied for second.  They will join six other Central Magnet students at the Nashville Chapter competition on February 11. 

The CEO club will not have their regular C rotation meeting today.  Any student interested in innovation should come to the Central Entrepreneurship Organization's next meeting on Monday, January 30th after school in room 222. There will be a guest speaker.

Attention All Students: Reading Rooms will be available this Friday during Spirit Day activities.  The Middle School sign up sheets are posted upstairs by Ms. Hale’s room and High School sign up sheets are posted on the auditorium doors.  When you sign up, please print your name NEATLY and MAKE NOTE OF WHICH ROOM you will report to.    Students should not need to go anywhere while in the reading rooms (except the restroom). This is an opportunity for students who enjoy a quieter atmosphere to avoid the noise and crowds of Spirit Day.  

If you are interested in playing Golf for the Middle School team this year, there will be a parent meeting Monday January 30th in room 242 at 3:30. You must have all information complete in dragonfly.  Contact Coach Meek if you or your parent are not able to attend.   

The Middle School Lady Tigers lost a heartbreaker to Battle Creek Middle School in the Semi-finals of the area tournament.  The game was a close one throughout with the Battle Creek taking the lead 35-34 in the final seconds. Madisen Stanley led all scorers with 14 followed by Liana Reyes with 12.  Landry LaPointe added 4 and Bailey Foster and Lillie Bryant finished with 2 each.  The Lady Tigers will play for 3rd place in the consolation game today at 5 against EO Coffman.  Winner advances to sectionals.  

The Central Magnet Tigers improved their record to 16-6 on the season when they picked up an important district win on Friday night at Maplewood School. The Tigers were led by Will Becker with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Mason Brown's 14 points. Jake Maddox and Mclane Martin chipped in 8 points each as well. The Tigers will be home tomorrow night when they take on District leading Hillwood at 7:30 

The Lady Tigers basketball team picked up a huge district win at Maplewood last Friday night 66-43. The Lady Tigers are now 7-0 in district play and 18-4 overall. The Lady Tigers were led in scoring by Olivia Hart with 17pts, Addison Melton had 14pts and 11rebounds, Bethany Jackson finished with 11pts, Reilly McMillan had 8pts, 6 assist, 5 steals, 4 rebounds and 3 charges taken, Reese Carlisle finished with 5pts, 3 assist and 1 charge taken, Julia Stuible and Reese Martin also chipped in 5 pts apiece and Reagan Creasy finished with 1 pt. The Lady Tigers will be at home tomorrow night vs Hillwood. 

The High School swim team competed in the Rutherford County swim meet this past Saturday. The team rocked the pool and placed second place overall as a team behind Oakland High School. The girls placed second behind Oakland by just 5 points and the boys tied the Oakland boys team for the second year in a row. Congratulations to the following swimmers:  

- Evie Riley for placing first in the 200 Freestyle and second in the 100 Butterfly 

- Sara Grace Terrell for placing third in the 200 Freestyle and second in the 500 Freestyle 

-  Cameron Conley for placing second in the 200 Freestyle and first in the 500 Freestyle  

- Kim Bao Nguyen for placing second in the 200 Individual Medley and third in the 500 Freestyle  

- Jean Drugmand for placing first in the 200 Individual Medley and second in the 100 Butterfly 

- Taylor Walker for placing first in the 100 Freestyle and first in the 100 Backstroke 

- Parker Dawes for placing first in the 100 Freestyle and first in the 100 Breaststroke  

- Jackie Dummermuth for placing third in the 100 Breaststroke  

- Taylor Walker, Jackie Dummermuth, Evie Riley, and Kim Bao Nguyen for placing first in the 200 Medley Relay

Congratulations to our archers that shot at the Oakland Tournament this week.  We had three archers place in the bullseye tournament.  Ev Phillips placed 2nd in the MS Female Division, Mikayla Harris placed 4th in the HS Female Division and Jackson Harris placed 4th in the HS Male Division.  In the 3D tournament, Owen Taylor placed 5th in the MS Male division, Jackson Harris was 2nd place HS Male and Mikayla Harris was the 2nd place HS Female.
