The Writing Lab application window has been extended through this coming Friday, February 3rd. Applications can be found on Mrs. Eubanks's school website. Please make sure that you get BOTH your application and letter turned in by the end of the day on February 3rd. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications should be turned in to Mrs. Eubanks in room 104. 

Due to the changed schedule this week, writing lab appointments scheduled for Thursday will actually meet on Wednesday. Appointments scheduled for Friday will still meet on Friday. 

SENIORS - If you have earned or are STILL WANTING to earn the Seal of Biliteracy, come to room #221 at 3:15 on Thursday, Feb. 2nd to fill out the mandatory paperwork with Ms. Dixon.  Without completed paperwork, you can't receive the Seal. 

Any student interested in innovation should come to the Central Entrepreneurship Organization's next meeting on Monday, January 30th after school in room 222. There will be a guest speaker from MTSU. 

It's time for the first Young Life club of 2023! Young Life will meet at 1515 Greenland Drive on Monday January 30th at 7:57. Get an extra raffle ticket for bringing a friend. 

Beta and CORE club are joining together to donate to the Coldest Nights Coat Drive. They will be accepting new or lightly worn winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves from January 9th-31st. Donation bins will be in Mrs. SK's room, Dr. Roland's room, and Mrs. Hendrixson's room. 

If you are volunteering at the Swap Meet this weekend, please come to Mrs. Culp's room Wednesday during CT.  

DECA is hosting a Middle School Dance on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Tickets will be sold at the door for $10.  Theme: Pink Out   We will have a DJ, photo area and concessions will be sold in the senior lunchroom.  

The Central Magnet Men's Basketball team picked up a huge district win on Friday at Homecoming when they defeated the Glencliff Colts 69-42. The Tigers were led by Jake Maddox with 22 points and 11 rebounds, Will Becker with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Mason Brown with 11 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Alex Perry also brought home 8 rebounds.  

The Tigers return to action tomorrow night when they travel to Nashiville to play the 1st place Martin Luther King Royals with game time being 7:30 pm 

More than half of the high school swim team competed in the MTHSSA High School Regional Championships in Nashville on Friday. The team showed up and had some fast swims in the pool. Congratulations to the following swimmers with some top finishes:  

- The Girls 200 Medley Relay with Taylor Walker, Jackie Dummermuth, Evie Riley, and Kim Bao Nguyen finishing 13th in the Region 

- The Boys 200 Medley Relay with Evan Keegan, Cameron Conley, Jean Drugmand, and Parker Dawes finishing 12th in the Region and for their 400 Freestyle Relay placing 9th.  

- The Girls 400 Freestyle Relay with Taylor Walker, Sara Grace Terrell, Kim Bao Nguyen, and Evie Riley placing 10th in the Region 

- Parker Dawes for finishing 8th in the Boys 50 Freestyle and also placing a new school record in the 100 Breaststroke.  

Thirteen of the seventeen middle school swim team members competed at the MTHSSA Middle School Regional Championships in Nashville on Saturday. There were also a lot of fast swims in the pool from our middle school team. The boys 400 Free Relay with Charlie Hurst, Jay Williams, Max Patel, and JT Parkerson qualified for Finals, along with Charlie Hurst and Jake Bull in the 100 Breaststroke. With Jake Bull being added to the relay for finals that night, the boys placed 7th in the Region. 

Congratulations to Jake Bull for placing 16th in the Region in his 100 Breaststroke and Charlie Hurst for placing 10th in the Region in the same race. Congratulations Tigers!!!  

Congratulations to our archers that shot at the Stewarts Creek Tournament this week.  We had three archers place in the bullseye tournament.  Ev Phillips placed 2nd in the MS Female Division, Mikayla Harris placed 2nd in the HS Female Division and Jackson Harris placed 5th in the HS Male Division.   

The Lady Tigers basketball team earned their 20th win last Friday night over Glencliff 48-8. The Lady Tigers were led in scoring by Bethany Jackson and Reilly McMillan both with 10pts each, Olivia Hart finished with 7 pts, Julia Stuible, Addison Melton and Clara Johnson finished with 4pts apiece, Ella Kate Harris had 3pts and Reese Carlisle, Reagan Creasy and Yazmin Zekry finished with 2 pts apiece. The Lady Tigers will next play at Martin Luther King tomorrow night.
