SENIORS in the National Spanish Honor Society - The $12 for your graduation cords is due by Feb. 15th. Your hours also need to be finished (or scheduled to be finished) by that date. Please bring to Ms. Kime or Ms. Pinson as soon as you can. ¡Gracias!

Valentine's Day is around the corner, and love is in the air! Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy! Middle School Student Council will be selling Candygrams during lunch on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Each candygram is $1. You will get a chance to show love to your friends with a sweet message and a treat of your choice. Candygrams will be delivered during 6th period on February 14th. Thank you for supporting Middle School Student Council and spreading love and kindness around Central! 

SNHS is hosting Ms. Royal to talk about genetics on Wednesday, February 8th. The event will take place during CT in the Senior Cafeteria. This is open to anyone, but club members can earn one point for attendance and one point for bringing snacks or refreshments.  

DECA is hosting a Middle School Dance on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Tickets will be sold at the door for $10.  Theme: Pink Out   We will have a DJ, photo area and concessions will be sold in the senior lunchroom.  

High School Students, are you interested in a summer job? The city of Murfreesboro will be set up in college corner Tuesday, February 7 during C and D lunch to share the opportunities they have available.  

If you like to SING, whether you are a beginner or an experienced singer, Central Magnet has a choir for you. 6th, 7th and 8th graders are invited to join the Middle School Choristers. This high-energy choir is growing every year, and sings music in many styles and languages. Choir members also have the opportunity to audition for district and regional honor choirs. Varsity Choir is open to all 9th - 12th graders, with no audition. This group performs music from in many different styles, and this choir also provides opportunities to audition for district, regional and state honor choirs. Show Choir is for experienced singers who have participated in choir or musical theatre productions. This group will perform music in many contemporary genres and will utilize student choreographers and a live band. BEFORE registering for this choir, please contact Dr. Saxon to set up an audition. 

Current juniors (rising seniors): It's time for you to choose your classes for your senior year! Check your school email for instructions and a link to sign up for an appointment. We will begin Monday, Feb. 6 and finish Friday, Feb. 17. Please go ahead and make your appointment and don't wait to be called from class when it's time. Simply come to Guidance a few minutes before your scheduled time.  

The Central Magnet Men's basketball team improved to 19-7 on the season and 8-3 in the district with a 61-27 win over the Hume Fogg Blue Knights. The Tigers were led by Mason Brown with 20 points, Jake Maddox with 11 points, and Will Becker added 9 points and Alex Perry 8 points in the victory. This assures the Tigers a 1st round home game in the district tournament next week. The Tigers will return to action on Tuesday when they host the Community Vikings in their last regular season home game.  

The JV team lost a close one Friday night against Hume Fogg, 29-31. Carson Wood led the team with 12 points and Alijah Dean had 7. The team is now 11-4 on the season. You have one more chance to catch the team in action at home: next Tuesday against Community.
