ATTENTION ALL 6th GRADERS! Are you a super speller? Do you want to prove to the rest of your class that you are the best speller in the whole grade? Do you want to compete for best 6th grade speller in the ENTIRE COUNTY? There is a special spelling bee in April, and we are looking for the best of the best at Central to compete! If you are interested in participating in the Central Magnet 6th annual 6th grade spelling bee, fill out the form on Mrs. Stanley's website. You have until March 3rd at 3pm (that's 3/3 at 3!) to complete the form. The 6th grade spelling bee will take place on March 13 and 15 (if needed) during CT. If you do not fill out the form, you cannot compete.
SNHS is hosting Mr. Horton to talk about subatomic particle physics on March 1st. This event will take place during CT in the Senior Cafeteria. This is open to anyone, but club members can earn one point for attendance and one point for bringing snacks or refreshments. We hope to see you there to learn about the small things.
Seniors and Staff, we have something special for you this Friday, February 24th! There will be an Acai’ bowl Food Truck available during your lunch period for Staff and Seniors only. The Central Magnet Men's Basketball team finished in 3rd place in the District 10AAA Tournament on Tuesday night when they defeated the Glencliff Colts by a score of 67-44. The Tigers were led by Mason Brown who scored 27 points including 7 3-pointers, Will Becker with 12 points, Jake Maddox with 8 points, Mclane Martin with 7 points and Alijah Dean with 6 points.
The Tigers will begin region tournament play on Saturday night when they travel to Creek Wood High School in Dickson County. The following Tigers were named to the All District team for the 2022-2023 season: Mclane Martin, Mason Brown, Jake Maddox, and Will Becker. All Tournament members for the Tigers include: Mason Brown and Jake Maddox.
The high school spring musical The Sound of Music opens next Thursday, March 2nd! Performances are March 2, 3, 4 @ 7:00pm and March 5 @ 5:00pm. Tickets for students are $5, adults $10. You can purchase tickets online ahead of time by scanning the QR code on any of the posters you see hanging around the school. You may also purchase tickets at the door. Cash or check only. Come out and support the CMS theatre department and enjoy a timeless classic!
