Are you a middle schooler interested in representing your grade playing soccer on Spirit Day Friday March 24th? If so, get a permission form from your Social Studies teacher and ask your parents to complete it and sign it. Forms will be collected by your Social Studies teacher until the end of the school day on Friday March 17th. However, due to having a limited amount of spots, the sooner you turn in your completed from, the higher chances you will have to make the team. E-mail Mrs. Kime if you have any questions.
If you are a Junior Beta member and you signed up for the March 20th Old Fort Park cleanup service project, please pick up a release form from the folder on Mrs. Stanley's classroom door. These forms must be signed and returned in order to participate. If you are interested in signing up for the cleanup, there is still time, but you need transportation to and from the park.
The Spring Spirit Day sport on Friday, March 24th will be Powderpuff Flag Football. Teams from each grade level will be formed of 12 players and 4 coaches. Permission Forms for your teams need to be completed and brought back to Mrs. SK in room 116, no later than Monday, March 20th. All forms for the team must be turned in together. No individual forms will be accepted. Please pick up a permission form from your student council grade representative or from Mrs. SK.
The book fair is open today until 3:30. Middle school students will visit the library through ELA classes and high school students will need a pass. All concessions will be sold all day for $1 each until they are gone. Come visit our Clue themed book fair today.
Central Magnet After Prom will be held Saturday, April 15th at MTSU’s Rec Center. CMAP is open to all Central juniors and seniors and their dates, whether or not they go to prom. Tickets can be purchased online now or in the cafeteria during C and D lunch Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of this week and Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week. Tickets are $20 if purchased by Mar 24 and $25 after that. Even if you purchase your ticket online, you must get your physical ticket from the cafeteria once your signed parent consent form is complete. Seniors- please turn in your permission form to Dr. Guthrie for the field trip. Your permission form, your notarized form and your money is due by April 5th. If you need a form, please check with your English teacher.
The middle school softball team opened up regular season play against Stewarts Creek middle school Monday afternoon. Pitchers Emalyn Rein and Oliva Groce persevered in a tough red hawk offense and Emalyn even played out the rest of the first inning despite getting walloped by a softball. Offensively, first base El Foss made it to base on a successful bunt and base on balls before stealing second. Catcher, Cad Young, made it to base with a hit pitch and proceeded to steel second and third.
The team is back in action this Thursday at McKnight Park against Rock Springs.
Middle School Students- If you are interested in trying out for Middle school Cheer for the 2023-2024 school year, you need an information packet. Please stop by Mrs. Huffman's office, Dr. Hines' office, or print one out from the MS Cheer website. There is a MANDATORY parent meeting April 10 at 6 pm in the senior cafeteria. The Middle School Golf team started our season Monday night against Blackman and Rockvale. The boys team consisting of Brandon Alston, Jude Austin, Justin Grissom, Felix Jeong, and Sawyer Lee came in third. The girls team consisting of Jian Jian Gao, Emma Ibrahim, and Lilly Broox Carey came in second. Jian Jian had the girls overall low score for the night! They play again Wednesday at Cedar Crest.
All current 6th and 7th grade members of the Middle School Girls Soccer team need to come to the upstairs teachers' workroom today at the beginning of CT for a short meeting.
Your Tiger baseball team beat Marshall county 2-1. Esten Cook threw a gem tossing 6 innings, striking out 8 and only giving up 2 hits. Nathan Stewart got the save striking out 2 in the 7th. John Cook went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a stolen base. Adam Apigian, Landon Martin, Hayden Griggs, and John Hays all had hits.
The high school softball team dropped a 6-0 decision to Rockvale on Tuesday night. Peyton Nicholson, Reese Carlisle, and Hali Phillips picked up hits for the Lady Tigers team will return to action on Thursday night for a varsity JV doubleheader at community high school.

Be sure to submit your service hours as soon as you complete them and obtain your signatures of proof. Remember service hours are due to your Advisor by April 5th, that's the week after spring break. Students, if you have not ordered your yearbook, time is running out! As of the writing of this announcement, there are 178 yearbooks still available for purchase. Once these yearbooks have been purchased, they are gone for good and no more will be available (including on signing day). Again, if you would like to order a yearbook, now is the time.
