The library will be closed on Wednesday, May 3rd at 11:30 due to an off-campus library meeting. Please make plans to print and check out before 11:30 on Wednesday. 

The library will be collecting books and laptops for inventory soon. Please pay close attention to the announcements for due dates and any special instructions from the librarians.  

Any senior that has a library book or school issued laptop checked out needs to return it by Friday, May 5th. Your English teachers have a schedule to come to the library on May 4th and 5th, so please come prepared to return your books and laptops during your English class. 

Junior Field trip permission forms have been distributed through English classes. Please turn in money and forms to Dr. Guthrie no later than May 17th. 

Attention rising 8th and 12th grade students. We are searching for new mentors for the 2023-2024 school year. 8th grade students will mentor 6th grade students and seniors will mentor 9th grade students. Mentors are in good academic and behavior standing here at Central Magnet. Our mentors are model students. If you are interested in being a mentor next year, please visit the mentoring website and complete the form expressing your interest. Stop by to see Mr. Nichols if you have any questions. 

If you are interested in trying out for middle school volleyball, please see Mrs. Hendrixson in room 345 to pick up an information sheet before May 12th. Tryouts will be held on May 30th at 9:30am in the gym. 

Tryouts for the HS basketball team will be May 16th from 3:30-5:30 for any students presently enrolled at Central. You must have physical forms etc. uploaded into "Final Forms". If you have questions, please see coach Bush.  

*Mandatory* Parent meeting for girls high school soccer Tuesday, May 23rd at 6pm in the cafeteria. 

The Tigers got a game tying home run from Nathan Stewart and then scored 8 more to win 12-5. Landon Martin picked up the win working the final 3 2/3 innings. Jake Maddox; John Cook; Nathan Stewart; Hayden Griggs; and Carter Long all had 2 hits. The Tigers will play Hume Fogg today in winners bracket. 

The High School men's soccer team had senior night last night and emerged 2-0 winners over Stem Prep.  Senior Will Kassebaum scored a brace and Landon Scraggins had an assist. The defense was immense preserving the shut out. 

District Tournament play begins Thursday at Central at 5:30 against Lawrence Co. 

Now that prom is over, if anyone has a formal dress from this year or previous that they no longer want, please bring them to Mrs. Stanley's room (234). She will be donating them to a local Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
