The library will be collecting books and laptops for inventory soon. Please pay close attention to the announcements for due dates and any special instructions from the librarians.
Any senior that has a library book or school issued laptop checked out needs to return it by Friday, May 5th. Your English teachers have a schedule to come to the library on May 4th and 5th, so please come prepared to return your books and laptops during your English class.
Junior Field trip permission forms have been distributed through English classes. Please turn in money and forms to Dr. Guthrie no later than May 17th.
Attention rising 8th and 12th grade students. We are searching for new mentors for the 2023-2024 school year. 8th grade students will mentor 6th grade students and seniors will mentor 9th grade students. Mentors are in good academic and behavior standing here at Central Magnet. Our mentors are model students. If you are interested in being a mentor next year, please visit the mentoring website and complete the form expressing your interest. Stop by to see Mr. Nichols if you have any questions.
Since Mrs. Davis is out today, any seventh grader with field trip money can bring their permission slip and money to Mrs. Stanley in room 234.
If you are interested in trying out for middle school volleyball, please see Mrs. Hendrixson in room 345 to pick up an information sheet before May 12th. Tryouts will be held on May 30th at 9:30am in the gym.
Tryouts for the HS basketball team will be May 16th from 3:30-5:30 for any students presently enrolled at Central. You must have physical forms etc. uploaded into "Final Forms". If you have questions, please see coach Bush.

Central Magnet moves on to the district 11AA semifinal against Page next Tuesday after beating Lawrence Co. 6-0 this evening in the quarterfinal. Clay Thompson led the way with a hat trick and an assist. Landon Scraggins and JT Parkerson had goals.
Merek Braiser, Jake Petty, and Will Kassebaum had assists.
The Central Magnet Baseball Team won the district championship with a 7-0 shut win over Hillwood. Esten Cook threw a complete game shutout striking out 9. Hayden Griggs homered for the 5th time on the season. Adam Apigian; Jake Maddox; John Cook; Will Becker; Hayden Griggs; Jake Hogue; and Walker Hayes were all named All District. Esten Cook was District Pitcher of the Year and Coach Patterson was Coach of the Year. The Tigers will return to play next Friday and Saturday in the Regional Tournament.
Now that prom is over, if anyone has a formal dress from this year or previous that they no longer want, please bring them to Mrs. Stanley's room (234). She will be donating them to a local Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
