Library passes will open on Monday, August 21st. Until that time, students may check out books before or after school, print before or after school. Teachers, if students ask to go to the library, please direct them to send an e-mail to the librarians with their questions. Hang in there...we will be open for business soon! 

High School Creative Writing Club will have its first weekly informational meeting on Monday August 14th from 3:15-3:45. Please email Mrs. Burrows to let her know you'll be attending. 

Are you interested in student council? We are holding Elections for freshman officers, a representative for each class, and sophomore class Secretary and Historian. To run for office, you must attend a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, August 16 during A or D lunch.  

The CMS Chess Team parent meeting is tonight at 4:30 in room 132. This meeting is essential for both new and returning chess families. 

The last day to change to a different class will be Friday, August 18. The last day to change levels in a class will be Friday, Sept. 1. A change form must be completed. These forms can be found outside of Guidance or on the CMS Counseling webpage. 

7th grade Immunization deadline is Tuesday, August 22nd. If you have not provided proof that you have received the required Tdap vaccine by the 22nd, you will not be allowed to return to school until you do so. Those students whose records that we do not have, Nurse Anderson emailed your parent on Friday the 11th. If you have any questions, please email Nurse Anderson or stop by the clinic. 

Lockers: Students, please take care of your locker. Magnets are fine on the outside but PLEASE no stickers! Try not to close your backpack strap or any clothing in your locker door as that warps it.  If you were not here to pick a locker, find one without string and that is empty and email Ms. Huffman to see if it is available or just go see her and she will help you find one. 

Parking passes are $5 in attendance. You will need your car license number to purchase a pass.  Anyone who parks on our campus will need to purchase a parking pass. 

Attention  Seniors: The Dollywood field trip is September 22. Please get permission forms from your English Teacher. The notarized form and your money is due to Dr. Guthrie no later than September 13th.  

Middle school volleyball has their first home game tonight at 4:30pm against Blackman. Central students get in for free, so come out and support your middle school lady tigers in their first home match of the season! 

Attention Seniors: The High School Girls Soccer Team will be hosting a FALL BALL for the Senior Class and their dates on Sunday, September 10th from 7 to 10 pm at Legacy Farms.  

This girls soccer team is hosting a semi-formal dance for the Senior class!  Tickets go on sale Monday August 21st and can be purchased in the Senior Cafeteria during C and D lunch (the last two lunches) and after school in the attendance office (See Dr. Guthrie). Tickets are 50.00 each and includes food, dancing and the gorgeous venue of Legacy Farms. Tickets are for Seniors at Central Magnet School only and their guest. If your guest does not go to CMS, you must have the form filled out prior to buying the ticket. Only one guest is allowed per student. We will follow the same procedure as purchasing prom tickets. If you have any question; please see a Senior Soccer Player, Coach Brindos or Mrs. Eubanks. You must have a valid ID and ticket for entry to the dance. 

Congratulations to the Central Magnet High School Cross Country team for their fantastic 2023 season debut at Siegel's Night Under the Stars this past Saturday! We had two runners break ten minutes: Ty Brown, who earned 4th place overall for the boys, and Vinny Peck, who earned 7th place overall for the boys. Catherine Zubkus, Emily Bush, Anna Niedzielski, Zayleigh Anderson, and Ashtyn Patterson all ran under 15 minutes, and all of them, along with several other Central Magnet girls, hit personal records. Ty Brown, Vinny Peck, Carson Phillips, Edan Pingitore, Harrison Hamby, Carlos Aguiar, Miles Ritter, Nate Dyer, Aaden Walker, Jaden Yoder, and Blake Nutter all ran under 12 minutes, and all of them, along with several other Central Magnet boys, also hit personal records. Congratulations to the team for all their dedication and hard work. We are looking forward to a great season! 

The results of the Trap Team’s June County competition:  Jean Drugmand: Champion.  Brennan Martin: Division Champion.  The CMS Trap Team was the Division Champion, congratulations to the entire team!
