All middle and high school students are invited to attend the Central Magnet Skateboarding Club this Friday in room 110. There will be skating-related giveaways and you do not need to own a skateboard to attend.

If you are taking the ACT at Central on Saturday, Sept. 9, please leave in plenty of time as there will be a race taking place near the school. Doors open at 7:30 and the exam will promptly start at 8:00. If you encounter a blocked road on your way, let the police officer know you are taking the ACT and he/she will let you through. Please also make sure you bring a valid picture ID and your admission ticket. You will NOT be admitted without an ID.

The middle school cross-country team raced on Saturday. The Girls' Team, Boys' Team, and JV Boys' team all placed first in their division at the "Turn the Page" Invitational, hosted by Page High School.
Top finishers were Elizabeth Hamilton, Analyn Richards, Zack Dial, Lucas Ye, Phillip Smith, and Max Metzger.
The team competes again this Friday at the MidState Championship.

The high school volleyball team picked up a hard fought 3-2 win over defending state champion Summertown on Tuesday night. Central lost the first two sets before storming back to win going away. The tigers were led by Noella Obi, who had 22 kills 17 digs, and two blocks. Grace Martindale had 33 digs and four assists. Emma Grace Smith chipped in 21 Digs, 8 aces and 4 kills.
Volleyball is back in action this afternoon as they travel across town for a match at Blackman. 5:00 JV w/ Varsity to follow.
The girls tennis team lost to Siegel yesterday, but none of them made it easy for their opponents. Madison Barger fought back from a 6-1 deficit to win 9-7. The boys picked up another win, putting them at 3-0 for the season so far. They play Rockvale tomorrow at 5:30.
