Rho Kappa, the Honor Society for Social Studies, is now accepting applications to become a member during the 2023-24 school year. Prospective members must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and have taken two AP Social Studies courses. Along with the application, perspective members must submit recommendations and their transcript.  Applications can be found on Mr. Eldridge’s school website. Deadline is September 15th.  

HS Beta new member applications are due Friday 9/15.  For current members, this month's service opportunity is posted on the club website.  Questions? See Dr. Roland or any officer. 

High school students, are you interested in a career in the Architecture, Construction Management, and Engineering fields? Then ACE Mentoring club is for you.  Students will be introduced industry mentors, to colleges with programs in these related fields and will work on a design project as an actual design team. The first ACE Club meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 20th from 3:30 to 5 pm in room 128.  Please see the ACE Club website or Mr. Bonanno for additional information and questions. 

The Black Student Union @ CMS is an organization with the goal of creating opportunities and encouraging support for our students.  If you are interested in joining this organization and playing a role in welcoming diversity in our school, please go to the BSU club page and complete the form that is linked there.  Join the REMIND group and stay informed about upcoming meetings and events.

High School Students:  Payment for AP exams begins Sept 12 and ends Oct 31.  Check your email for the details. 

Any middle school student interested in being a part of crew for Frozen Jr, please go to Mrs. Sweet for more information and how many positions are available.  

Attention  Seniors: The Dollywood field trip is September 22. Please get permission forms from your English Teacher. The notarized form and your money is due to Dr. Guthrie no later than September 13th.  

For anyone that is interested in participating on the MS and HS archery teams this year, there will be a parent meeting on Monday, September 18th at 5:30 pm in the main cafeteria.  Signup, practice and tournament information will be provided at the meeting.  Please see the Archery website or Coach Bonanno with any questions. 

We will sell Smoothies at all four lunches on Friday.  We will have Lemon Twist Strawberry, Angel Food, and Strawberry Kiwi.  Bring $6 and support your HS cheer squad. 

This past weekend, the CMS High School Cross Country team competed among more than 900 runners at the Voyles Classic. We had three runners place in the top 10 in their races. Ty Brown placed 9th in the varsity race with a time of 16:00 minutes. Vinny Peck placed 17th with a time of 16:22. In the JV race, Aaden Walker placed 7th with a time of 18:24, and Blake Nutter placed 8th with a time of 18:25.  In the girls' varsity race, Catherine Zubkus placed 22nd with a time of 20:01. We are tremendously proud of all our runners and the hard work they continue to put in this season. Go Tigers! 

The Tiger Golf team competed in the PCA Invitational yesterday at Stones River Country Club where Owen Zubkus fired a 77. The girls were led by Anna Powell's 77, and Lauren Powell shot an 80. The Tigers take on Siegel today at Old Fort and prepare for the District Tournament next week. 

The high school volleyball team traveled to Sevierville over the weekend for the smoky mountain classic. The Tigers finished 3-2 on the weekend picking up wins over Buckhorn high school from Alabama, bullet east high school from Kentucky and Elizabethton high school. The team had a good showing, but eventually lost in the silver bracket. They host Riverdale high school tonight with JV starting at five and varsity to follow. Please make plans to attend and support your volleyball team.
