Rising Juniors and Seniors - Don't forget to apply for National English Honor Society. The application is completely online and can be found on the Central NEHS website or by scanning the QR code on the flyers in your English class. Are you looking to raise your ACT score?  Will you be taking the ACT for the first time this Spring?

This announcement is for you!  Rutherford County is once again offering the Jane Ross ACT Boot Camp in each high school.  Priority registration is given to this year's juniors as they prepare for the state-wide ACT in March.  The program being presented at Central is designed for reaching a goal of 25 or better, and for improving scores for students who have already met that benchmark.

Flyers are posted around the school and on the webpage with dates and information and QR codes for registration. Registration opens today, February 5th.

Attention high schoolers: Young life club is tonight at 7:57 PM at 1515 Greenland Drive. The theme is PJ's. We hope to see you there!

Middle School Youth in Government will NOT meet on Monday, Feb. 5. Club members--read the important announcement on the YIG middle school website.

DECA will host a Middle School Dance on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the CMS Cafeteria. Tickets will be sold at the door for $10.00 per student. Concessions will be available as well. DJ Corban will provide the music and Balloon Company by Lo will have a photo backdrop for students to take pictures.

Sra. Pinson will NOT be hosting Mesa de Español today during club time.

Attention - SENIORS in Natl Spanish Honor Society. This is a reminder that if you'd like to order a cord for Graduation, you need to bring the $12 to either Sra. Kime or Sra. Pinson before March 1.

Congratulations to both Archery teams this weekend as the MS team placed 5th and the HS team placed 2nd in the bullseye tournament.  Individually, Johnathan Warner was the 5th place HS Male and Jackson Harris was the 1st place HS Male in the bullseye tournament.  In the 3D tournament, the MS team placed 4th and the HS team placed 1st beating Riverdale by 7 Ten’s in the tiebreaker.  Individually in the 3D tournament, Owen Taylor was the 1st place MS Male, Preston Sanders was the 4th place HS Male, Jackson Harris was the 3rd place HS Male, Jesse Blunkall was the 4th place HS Female and Ava Edwards was the 1st place HS Female. 

Your Central Magnet Black Trap Team scored the Highest Overall at the AIM February 2024 tournament.  The Black Team remains undefeated for the 2023/2024 season.  Jean Drugmand was the Champion with a 98 out of 100!

Your Gold Team made a great showing in its first full competition, achieving second in its division.  Congratulations to Collin Barrett who led the Gold team with an 84.

The Lady Tigers defeated Marshall Co. last Friday night 41-29. Addison Melton led all scorers with 24pts, Madisen Stanley scored 9pts, Bethany Jackson had 6pts and 4 assist, Julia Stuible added 2pts and 7 rebounds and Reilly McMillian added 5 assists. The Lady Tigers will be back in action tonight vs Moore Co. at home starting at 6pm.

The Central Magnet Tigers lost a close one on Friday at Marshall County by a score of 66-57.

The Tigers were led in scoring by Mason Brown with 15 points, Will Becker with 14 points and 8 rebounds, Jake Maddox with 8 points and 8 rebounds and Owen Zubkus and Garrett Florida chipped in 7 points each.

The Tigers will be in action tonight as they host Moore County at 7:30.
