Attention middle school students: If you are interested in being a part of this year's First Priority leadership team, please attend a short meeting this Friday in Ms. Hale's room (218) at 7:20 am. If you are unable to attend, but still want to be a part of the leadership team, then please send Ms. Hale an email. Thank you!
 
If you’re a Junior or Senior interested in being a part of Science National Honor Society but missed the application at the end of last year, you’re in luck! SNHS applications for the 2024-2025 school year have reopened, and they are closing August 30th at 11:59 PM. The link can be found on the SNHS website.
 
Anyone that is interested in being part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership team please email Coach Lanier this week.  The email address is [email protected].  FCA is particularly looking for some guys, middle schoolers, and high school underclassmen to join the leadership team, but everyone is welcome.
 
The Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society is currently accepting applications for the 2024-25 school year. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and two AP Social Studies courses. Applications can be found on Mr. Eldridge's website under the Rho Kappa tab. Applications will be accepted until 8/23 and dropped off in room 115.
 
Fall Elections for HS Student Council are next week!  We are having elections for Freshman President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian.  Additionally, there is a class representative position open for each high school class.  If you are interested in running for one of these positions you must attend a mandatory meeting during your 25-minute study hall this Friday, August 16th in Ms. Dixon's room (221).  If you will be absent from school on Friday August 16, please email Ms. Dixon and Dr. Hines no later than 11:30 am on Friday and let them know that you are absent and would like to run.    
 
The TableTop Board Game Club will have its first meeting of the year Thursday August the 22nd. It is open to middle and high school students and meets in the Senior Cafeteria after school until 4:30pm. Please be sure to have your parents opt you in before attending.
 
If you want to request a schedule change, complete the form that is located outside of the Counseling office.
 
Any students who are self-carrying epinephrine (EpiPens) and/or albuterol (inhalers) or any other medications, must have proper documentation on-file with the school with written authorization from their doctor and parent. If a parent hasn't already met with the nurse, they will need to contact Nurse Robert.
 
PSAT- 9th, 10th and 11th graders can register to take the PSAT now thru August 26th. The cost is $18.00. You can register and pay (cash or check)  in the attendance office. School cash online is also available if you would like to pay with a credit/debit card (link was provided on the previous email). The PSAT is scheduled for October 23rd.
 
If you would like to join the Central bowling team, tryouts will be held at Lanes, Trains, and Automobiles on August 20 at 4:00 p.m. You must be compliant with Final Forms before trying out. Email Coach Snow and/or visit room 205 for additional information.
 
HS Cheer will have a fall tryout on August 28th from 3:15-3:45. Fall tryouts are open to athletes who were not Central Students in April of 2024 or athletes who were otherwise ineligible to try out in April of 2024. If you want to try out, please stop by Coach Griggs’s classroom (room 335) for information and paperwork by August 23rd.
