UNICEF club raises money for children around the world and has a meeting during C rotation in room 241, where there will be food. Make sure you are opted in and signed up in flex before coming.  
 
Today is the last day to change to a different class. Change forms are outside of Guidance. It requires a parent, teachers', counselor's, and an administrator's signature. See your counselor if you have questions.
 
Please buy your parking passes in attendance. They are $5. We will need your license plate number.
 
The Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society is currently accepting applications for the 2024-25 school year. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and two AP Social Studies courses. Applications can be found on Mr. Eldridge's website under the Rho Kappa tab. Applications will be accepted until 8/23 and dropped off in room 115.
 
The interest meeting for middle school student council is next Monday during C club rotation in Mrs. Phillips’s room. This meeting is mandatory. If you will be absent & unable to attend, email Mrs. Phillips.
 
Attention students interested in CREATIVE WRITING. The Center for the Arts is holding a creative writing workshop on Saturday, August 24, at 10:30. There is information posted on Cindy Davis's website.
 
Looking for a chill club that supports a good cause? Join beads for charity! This club will meet in room 125 during c rotation and is open to middle school and high school. Members will be able to make and sell bracelets and then all the money collected will go to children’s hospitals! For more info please check out our website under clubs and activities.
 
Hola! National Spanish Honor Society is now accepting application for the new year. You must be in Spanish 3 or higher, or your 5th semester of Spanish. Applications can be found on the club page. All forms and club dues need to be completed and brought to the first meeting on Wednesday, August 28th. Please see Sra. Kime or Sra. Pinson with any questions.
 
High School Creative Writing Club will have their first meeting next Tuesday 8/27 from 3 to 4 in Mrs. Burrows' room (336). Their club is for students who simply like to write, as well as those who have a serious interest in getting published. Come to write, build your skills, learn about craft, editing, and publishing, and have fun. This first meeting will go over some of their club plans for this year and will introduce new members to the club. The High School Creative Writing Club looks forward to seeing you then!

The Psychology National Honor Society, Psi Alpha, is now accepting applications. If you are interested in psychology and passed the AP Psychology Exam you are eligible to join. Please come by to see Mr. Cowart before Sept. 5th if you are interested. Our first club meeting is during G Rotation on Sept.9th.

PSAT- 9th, 10th and 11th graders can register to take the PSAT now thru August 26th. The cost is $18.00. You can register and pay (cash or check) in the attendance office. School cash online is also available if you would like to pay with a credit/debit card (link was provided on the previous email). The PSAT is scheduled for October 23rd.

HS Cheer will have a fall tryout on August 28th from 3:15-3:45. Fall tryouts are open to athletes who were not Central Students in April of 2024 or athletes who were otherwise ineligible to try out in April of 2024. If you want to try out, please stop by Coach Griggs’s classroom (room 335) for information and paperwork by August 23rd.
 
Middle School Volleyball defeated Cannon. Co yesterday! JV won 25-7 and 25-14 with 7 service aces by Makoi Burt and 5 service aces by emery Butler. Varsity won 25-18 and 25-13 with 5 service aces and 2 kills by Harper Brown. Their next home game is Monday, August 26th starting at 4:30. Students get in free!
