Students! Make sure you sign up in Flex to attend a club or directed study before club period. Everyone must sign up for an activity! If you are choosing a directed study, pick one with a teacher who is on your schedule this semester. If clubs do not appear on your Flex options and you only see directed studies, that means that you have not submitted an Opt In form. Ask your parents to check their emails for the form.

Do you like to swim? Are you competitive? Maybe the Central Magnet Swim team is for you! The coaches will host an information meeting today at 7:30 pm. The link for the meeting can be found on the CMS swim website. Any questions can be directed to Coach Cerami (formally O'Hara) in the gymnasium.
Congratulations to the middle school cross-country team. They raced Friday night at the MidState Championships in Nashville. The dropping temps and hard-packed course resulted in some really fast results. The girls team captured 4th place out of 21 scoring teams. The boys took 2nd out of 28. Top finishers were Philip Smith, Max Metzger, Adelyn King and Elizabeth Hamilton. The team competes next on Saturday at the VA golf course for the Siegel Invitational.
There will be an archery parent and informational meeting on Monday, September 23rd at 5:30 in the main cafeteria. Please try to attend as I will be discussing how to get signed up for archery, practices, tournament schedule, expectations and much more.
The high school cross country team competed against more than 1700 runners at the Voyles Classic at The Hermitage this past weekend. Many of our runners hit their personal best at this race. The top three fastest girl runners for CMS were Catherine Zubkus, Emma Griffith, and Rachel Benefield, and the top three boys were Henry Nance, Carson Phillips, and Ty Brown. Henry took home a medal for taking the 30th spot in the varsity race out of more than 535 runners. Luca Guevart took home a medal for 3rd place in the boys' JV race. Congratulations to all our runners!
