Attention juniors and seniors! The 63rd annual United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) Washington Week is being planned for March 1-8, 2025. This annual program authorizes the selection of 104 student delegates for an intensive week-long education and leadership program to be held in Washington, D.C. The program is merit based and highly competitive. Each student will also receive a $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science. All expenses will be covered by private funding. The student applicant must currently be serving in an elected capacity in student government, civic, or educational organizations. Selection will be based on academic accomplishments, community service, knowledge of current American government issues and procedures and demonstrated qualities of leadership for the current school year. Juniors who are interested in Prom Committee will meet during H club rotation; however, this first meeting will take place in the cafeteria- NOT the auditorium. Attention all students and staff members: Please remember that we report to our Advisory class and location for H club rotation days. The first H rotation falls on Wed, Sept 11 this week. Mentors -- Mentor training will take place this week for 8th and 12th grade mentors in the auditorium. Please report directly to the auditorium. You will meet with your mentees for the first time next month after fall break.

Students taking this ACT this Saturday, Sept. 14: remember you MUST have a photo ID to take the test. You will NOT be admitted without a photo ID or a signed photo form. Please bring your ACT ticket and calculator, as well. See your counselor if you have questions. Doors will open at 7:30 at CMS.
There will be an archery parent and informational meeting on Monday, September 23rd at 5:30 in the main cafeteria. Please try to attend as I will be discussing how to get signed up for archery, practices, tournament schedule, expectations and much more.
Middle School Volleyball will have their last home game of the season this Wednesday, September 11th, and it will be 8th grade night! Come out and help recognize our 8th graders, as they take on Rocky Fork. JV plays at 4:30 and will be followed by a presentation of our 8th graders, and Varsity will play after. As always, students get in free!
The high school volleyball team moved to 2-0 in District play Monday night with a win over Cascade. The Tigers won in 3 sets and were led by Maddie Porters 11 assists, 11 digs, 11 aces, and 8 kills. Julia Stuible was dominant in the middle with 8 kills and 5 blocks. The JV team dropped the 0-2 decision but were led by Lily Stuible's 5 kills, 2 blocks, and 2 digs. Tigers travel to Giles County tonight for another JV-Varsity Doubleheader.
Middle school girls' soccer took home a win over Oakland last night. The girls finished 1-0 with a goal off of Reese McDaniel. Ella Agee had an exceptional shut out in the goal for the Lady Tigers. The girls will return home tomorrow night for the final home game of the season. Kick off will be at 4:30 with 8th grade night at half time!
Lauren Powell led the Lady Tiger golf team yesterday with a 77. Anna Powell's 82 and Emery Mitchell's 83 were good enough for fourth place at the highly competitive PCA Invitational.
