Congratulations to the Central Magnet High School Boys' Cross Country Team! They are TSSAA Division I A-AA State Champions!!!
Ty Brown, Blake Nutter, Henry Nance, Carson Phillips, Aaden Walker, Harrison Hamby, and Nate Dyer defeated the competition by the widest margin in recent school history at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville yesterday. They beat MLK by 6 points, Signal Mountain by 43 points, and Station Camp by 50 points! They ran the 5K state course at a team average pace of 16 minutes 43 seconds, the fastest team average at that course in CMS history!
The CMS girls' cross country team also ran a fantastic race yesterday! Rachel Benefield, Ashtyn Patterson, Georgia McCasland, Zayleigh Anderson, Emma Griffith, Keila Wegmeyer, and Olivia Egli all ran in a group of 243 top competitors, beating out several other schools and finishing out a great season.
We are so proud of our entire high school cross country team for their hard work and dedication throughout the 2024 season! Let's celebrate the boys' team for their state championship win!! Go Tigers!!
