Parents, if you ordered a yard sign - they have arrived.  Dr. Hines only has the students' names listed for the orders - so if you ordered the sign as a surprise (and do not want your student to know about it), please email her at [email protected] before Wednesday, November 13th.  She will leave the sign in the front office for you to pick up.  On Thursday, November 14th, she will email the students on her list the information about picking up the yard signs.

To be, or not to be... in Shakespeare club...That is the question. The Shakespeare club is open to any high schoolers who are interested in all things Shakespeare. The club meets during F rotation in room 203, Mr. Barham's room. This next Wednesday, there will be snacks, so sign up in Flex and see what it's all about!  Email Mr. Barham for any questions.

In honor of National French week, and to annoy Dr. Ash, we will be presenting French facts each day this week and there will be famous French quotes and images of famous French people around halls.

Today, the 11th day of the 11th month, represents Armistice Day in France, the end of World War 1 in 1918. The Armistice was signed in the town of Versailles (versigh), outside of Paris. While many Europeans wear red poppies in November in remembrance of veterans and those lost to war, the French wear the blue cornflower on their shirts. Both flowers represent the little life that still was able to flourish among the disturbed soil from trenches and tanks in war-torn France and Belgium during WW1.

Sales of these lapel decorations originally benefited veteran organizations, veterans and their families, and in some countries still do. If you'd like a poppy or cornflower, ask a French Club member and we will make you one to honor those who served.
