French facts of the day:
France has helped shape our country.
During the American Revolution, France provided money, fighters, and weapons to the Continental Army, helping them defeat the British. This victory in turned inspired the French Revolution which overthrew the monarchy and established a republic.
The writings of the French Enlightenment philosopher Montesquieu (mon te skew) inspired the framers of the constitution and were the basis for the idea of 3 branches of government.
Additionally, at least 30% of the English language comes from French.

HS Cheer will sell Smoothies at lunch tomorrow. Don't forget to bring $6.50 if you'd like one.
The Central Magnet High School Swim Team kicked off their season on Tuesday night against division 3A opponent Siegel at the Riverdale natatorium. Led by senior captain Cameron Conley, the team achieved victory in both the girls' and boys' events, winning 97 to 61 and 97 to 67, respectively. The team has won their division for the past two seasons!
The middle school team will compete in its third meet at LaVergne this Saturday. Gaven Chen, Lorelai Richardson, and Quinnten Curnes have already qualified for the regional championship meet!
The middle school track and field team will begin the season with a parent meeting on Wednesday, November 20th at 6pm in the senior cafeteria. Parents should enter on the middle school drop-off side. See Coach J. Burns in room 132 for information.
Are you interested in auditioning for this year's variety show? Any middle or high school student who would like to submit an audition recording should go follow the link on the Student Council webpage to get to the Padlets for submissions. There are separate Padlets for middle and high schoolers, and all students will need to make sure to fill out the linked Microsoft Form to finish their submission.
