Seniors will meet in the auditorium for Advisory today. All students should sit with their own Advisories.
Students--do you need help with your resume for college or for jobs? Come to the Resume Workshop, hosted by National English Honor Society, during RTI time on February 6, February 13, or February 20th. This is open to all high schoolers! Sign up in Flex and bring your laptop!
The Writing Lab is accepting applications for peer tutors for next year. Applications are open to rising juniors and seniors who enjoy writing and helping other students. Applications can be found in your English teachers' classrooms or in Mrs. Eubanks's room (104). You must apply no later than February 7th to be considered. Swing by to grab an application or ask any questions!
All regional finalists for the National History Day competition need to make final changes and upload their project by Friday, January 31. Please see Mr. Eldridge if you have any questions.
Seniors- if you have not ordered your cap, gown and diploma cover for graduation you need to do this by February 10th.

The Central Magnet Robotics team traveled to East Tennessee State University this past weekend and competed in the Robot Drone League National Championships. The team placed 2nd in the robot contest, 2nd and 3rd in scoring, and 3rd overall in the Champions Award category.

Attention Rising Juniors & Seniors! If you're interested in joining the National English Honor Society, which focuses on promoting literacy in our community, make sure to apply using the QR codes posted in English classrooms and around the building. Students, Teachers and Staff: TEACH would like to recognize a teacher or staff member once a month who has done something worth sharing and allowing them to shine.  You will find flyers with a QR code around the building on the bulletin boards.  Scan it, fill it out and let's start sharing the great things going on at CMS.
If you are interested in more information concerning Scouts, there will be a representative at CMS during club time in the auditorium on Feb. 5. They will share more about hiking, camping, swimming and help connect you with a troop.
DECA is sponsoring a Middle School Valentines Dance on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

If you are a member of TSA, you need to attend a 30 minute meeting after school this Thursday in Mr. Guthrie's room. The meeting will discuss the TSA State conference costs as well as competitions.

Middle School Boys and Girls:  If you are interested in playing middle school golf this spring, please scan the QR code on the golf interest flyers posted in the middle school hallway or see Mrs. Sissom in room 238 this week.
The JV boys high school basketball team suffered a tough loss last to Lawrence County. The final score was 41-46. Kason Puffer led all scorers with 13 points, while Isaac Messick and Kai Jones both had 10 points. The boys hung tough but needed just a couple more stops to win. The next game will be this coming Friday night on the road at Franklin County.
The Lady Tigers picked up a huge district win last night 54-46 over Lawrence Co. They were led in scoring by Madisen Stanley with 17pts, Clara Johnson and Bethany Jackson both chipped in 12pts a piece. Julia Stuible contributed 7pts, Lia Reyes added 4pts and Landry Lapointe finished with 2pts. The Lady Tigers will be back in action Friday at Franklin Co.
The Central Magnet Men's Basketball Team fell to 0-5 in District 12AAA last night with a loss to the visiting Lawrence County Wildcats.
The Tigers had balanced scoring and were led by Kason Puffer with 13 points, Hollis Jackson with 10 points and Kai Jones with 9 points.
The Tigers will be back in district action on Friday when they travel to Franklin County.
