Juniors!  It’s time for the CMS After-School ACT Workshop!
Juniors are scheduled to take the ACT on March 11, 2025.  In addition to the in-school bootcamp for all juniors, CMS will host the after-school workshop again this year.
This year’s program is a modified version of the Jane Ross ACT Program offered the last two years.
The CMS After-School ACT Workshop will be held on the following dates:
•       Saturday, March 1 – 8:00 – 12:00
•       Tuesday, March 4 – 3:15 – 5:15
•       Thursday, March 6 – 3:15 – 5:15
With the modified format of the program, we will only have 75 spots available for our 11th grade students to participate in the after-school program.
An email with program information and a link for registration has been sent to all juniors and their parents.  Please check for the email and register for the after-school three-day workshop.

 Applications are now open for the upcoming Yearbook class. This year, all students interested in joining the Yearbook team must submit a formal application, which includes an English teacher recommendation, to Ms. Quinn in room 227. Applications for yearbook can be obtained from the Guidance Office or from Ms. Quinn. The deadline for submitting an application is 3 P.M. on Tuesday, February 11th. If you have any questions about the application process or the Yearbook class, please see Ms. Quinn for more information.
Students, Teachers and Staff: TEACH would like to recognize a teacher or staff member once a month who has done something worth sharing and allowing them to shine.  You will find flyers with a QR code around the building on the bulletin boards.  Scan it, fill it out and let's start sharing the great things going on at CMS.
Attention middle school girls: First Priority leaders invite you to join us in room 218 (Ms Hale's room) this upcoming Thursday at 7:25 am as we start our morning small groups. We hope to see you there!
If you are interested in more information concerning Scouts, there will be a representative at CMS during club time in the auditorium on February 5.
They will share more about hiking, camping, swimming and help connect you with a troop.
All students! National English Honor Society will be selling Soda Grams for Valentine's Day! Send them to your friends, secret crushes, and people you admire and appreciate! Soda Grams will be $1 and will be sold during all lunches the week of Valentine's Day! Your note and a soda will be delivered the morning of Valentine's Day in 1st Period!
Are you an Orthodox Christian or interested in knowing more about the Orthodox Christian religion? OCSM, the Orthodox Coptic School Ministry, will be meeting during C Club Rotation in room 115. In the meeting, we will introduce our club, what we represent, and our future service and club activities, Snacks will be included! Join us for some snacks and games!
The TableTop Board Game Club is accepting new members. They meet every Thursday after school in the upstairs faculty lounge and meetings go until 4:30pm. They play a variety of board games, trading card games, and would love to welcome you. The Club is open to Middle and High School so come join us and join the fun. DECA is sponsoring a Middle School Valentines Dance on Friday, February 14, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Concessions will be sold as well.
There will be no Smoothie Sales this Friday, Feb. 7th. They will be available next week.
The JV high school boys basketball team had a tough matchup last night at Moore County High School. After being down by ten points deep into the second half, the Tigers came roaring back. Kai Jones drained a three with seconds remaining to force overtime, and then the Tigers outlasted Moore County for a 2 point, come from behind victory!  Owen King led us scoring with 12 points, Nathan Deinard had 11, and Jones had 9.
The Central Magnet Men's Basketball team picked up a big non-district win last night when they defeated the Moore County Raiders 53-52.
A game that went back and forth throughout the night was finally decided when Owen King hit 2 clutch free throws with 10 seconds left in the game. The Tigers then hung on for the victory with a good defensive stand.
The Tigers were led in scoring by Kason Puffer with 14 points, Hollis Jackson with 12 points, Carter Sage with 9 points and Owen King chipping in 7 points.
The Tigers will be back in action tonight when they host the Tullahoma Wildcats.
