Let the record show - the first ever high school flag football game in the illustrious 222-year history of Rutherford County was won by CENTRAL MAGNET SCHOOL. The Tigers defeated Smyrna, 20-15. Let the record show - the first touchdown scored in county football history was a pick-six by freshman Norah Clancy. Freshman Emery Bland scored Central's second touchdown, hauling in a 40-yard pass from freshman quarterback Sarah Zaza. Freshman Anna Redmon tacked on another pick-six in the second half. Freshman Lily Stuible was dynamic on defense, recording eight tackles.
However, our Tigers dropped the second game of the night to Rockvale. But HISTORY WAS MADE, and we are all proud of our football Tigers. Central's football team will be back in action on Tuesday vs Oakland and Siegel at Oakland High School.
Do you need service hours? Join Dr. Guthrie March 22 from 8 to 12 for a campus clean up! Parents are also encouraged to attend! If you have any questions, please see Dr. Guthrie in the attendance office.
