High school students! Do you enjoy singing pop songs or show tunes? Do you love to dance and sing? Come and audition for the Central Magnet Show Choir!! This exclusive ensemble performs pop, rock, jazz, and musical theatre along with choral music. Auditions are May 1st from 3:00 - 6:00 in the choir room (339 in annex). Come prepared to sing 1 minute of a musical theater or pop song with a karaoke track and come dressed to dance!
AP exams are coming soon! Remember, you can come in late/ leave early on the day of your AP exam with parent permission. Your AP teachers should be handing out these forms. They are also available in the attendance office. The forms are due in attendance by May 1st.

The Central Middle School Varsity Boys Soccer team defeated Rocky Fork Varsity 2-0. Caleb Beyene and Colt Miller scored goals from corners by Tobias Abebe. The JV Tigers tied Rocky Fork JV 2-2. Ugo Eze and Ritesh Kumar scored goals for Central.
Central Magnet baseball went 4-0 over the weekend and won The Bob Black Memorial tournament. Elijah Bonner threw a no hitter in the first game while striking out 12. Braylon Dowell threw a 1 hit shut out on day 2 while striking out 7. The two freshmen combined for 13 innings and allowed only 1 hit and 19 strike outs while giving up only one unearned run. John Roth and Jon Mical Courtney were the other two winning pitchers on the weekend. Offensive highlights included Braylon Dowell and Jensen Spry both with 5 hits; Mitchell Coons, Benson Reavis and Joseph Rowell all had 8 hits over the weekend. Mitchell Coons also became the 8th player in school history to collect 100 hits. Elijah Bonner was 7 for 11 over the weekend with 5 doubles and 7 RBIs. Joseph Rowell also hit his first home run. The Tigers now have 16 wins on the season. The Tigers will play Giles Co. today at 6:30 at Siegel due to rain.
The High school track team participated in the Rutherford County Championships on Friday and Saturday.
Congratulations to Henry Nance who is the Rutherford County Champion in the 800 meter run.
Also congratulations to the boys 4x 800 relay of Henry Nance, Hudsen Bock, Nate Dyer, and Aaden Walker who won 3rd place in the county Nate Dyer also placed 3rd in the 3200 followed by Henry Nance and Blake Nutter who finished 4th and 5th. Chuck Obi Placed 3rd in the High Jump with another jump of 6'-4" and finished 5th overall in the 110 High Hurdles.
Jay Williams PR'd in the the 100 meters with a time of 11.84
On the Girls side, Rachel Benefield placed 3rd overall in the 3200 meter run.
Kiera Waldron placed 4th in the 110 high hurdles and 5th overall in the 300 low hurdles.
The girls 4x800 relay of Georgia McCasland, Keila Wegemeyer, Zayliegh Anderson, and Catherine Zubkus, finished 5th overall in the County. Kayla Markwei and Cadence Upshaw finished 6th and 7th in the Discus throw.
The Tigers compete again this Saturday at the Riverdale Tomahawk Chop meet.
