We hope you're enjoying the new vending machines! Some answers to common questions: If your item doesn't drop, a refund will automatically be issued. If your item rolls under the shelf, go to the front office for a help card. Digital payment refunds can take up to 3 days to process, but if you don't receive it after that, go to the front office for help.
High School Students: The PSAT test will be October 21. Registration to take the PSAT has begun. The cost to take the test is $18. You can register in attendance or sign up online. The link is on the main webpage. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Huffman. This is for students in 9th-11th grade. DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS SEPTEMBER 3.
Middle and High Schoolers, are you interested in participating in a science fair here at Central? Well then come check out the Science Fair Club! We will be having our first meeting during C rotation in room 241!
Do you have a love for stories or poetry? Consider joining the High School Creative Writing Club! This year, we are partnering with IngramSpark, a local publishing company. We will visit them on a field trip, and we will publish an anthology with them! We meet on F rotation and Tuesdays after school from 3 to 4 in Mrs. Burrows's room, room 336, starting August 26th!
Attention all students!  We've had a great start to clubs this year.  Keep up the good work! Remember your deadline for creating new clubs is rapidly approaching.  Any new clubs must be formed before Labor Day.  See Mr. Nichols if you have any questions.
Applications are now live for the 2025-26 school year to become a member of Rho Kappa, the Honor Society for Social Studies. Rho Kappa members participate in social studies-related community service, National History Day, and help advance the field of history, government, economics, geography, psychology, and many other areas. The application can be found on Mr. Eldridge's website and is due in room 115 no later than 3 pm on Friday, September 29th. No applications will be accepted after that time!

College Corner will host Samford University, University of Memphis, and Union University this week. Stop by to introduce yourself and have all your questions answered!
Bowling tryouts will be held on Tuesday, September 2 from 4:00-5:30 at Lanes, Trains, and Automobiles. No experience is required. Boys or girls in grades 8-12 may try out. You must have a physical, and all forms must be completed and uploaded into Final Forms before trying out. Please contact Coach Snow if you have questions.
HS cheer will sell smoothies during lunch this Friday for $6.50. 
The CMS high school cross country team ran a great first 5K race of the season at the Saturday Light Fever. The fastest runners in each division were Olivia Pinson for the JV girls with 25:14, Zack Dial for the JV boys with 19:03, Rachel Benefield for the varsity girls with 20:49, and Blake Nutter for the varsity boys with 16:35. Blake earned 8th place in the race, and both the CMS JV and varsity boys' teams earned 4th place. We would love for everyone to come out to the yard sale at CMS on Saturday, August 30th, to help support all our runners who are working so hard and are looking forward to a great season! 
The middle school cross-country team competed in Macon County on Saturday. It was the first cross-country race for many on our team. The boys placed first of twelve scoring teams, edging out Cookeville by seven points, while the girls took third in a field of eight - falling short only to Oakland MS and Cookeville. Top finishers for the Tigers were Miles Pinson, Joe Pinson, Adelyn King, and Rupal Bajlory. This coming Saturday, the team travels to Gallatin for the Bison Long-Hunter Classic, where they will face 36 other teams in a single race!
