DECA will open the Coffee Shop starting Monday, September 8, in the concessions area. Hours are 7:15 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We will serve iced/hot coffee, hot chocolate and cookies. We accept cash and debit/credit cards.

We are partnered with local non-profit Potentia 360 and we are dedicated to empowering female students interested in pursuing a career in STEM fields. We will be hosting speakers to inform members of possible career paths, as well as participating in community service projects. High school students, are you interested in Architecture, Engineering or Construction? The ACE Mentoring Club is for you. You will be designing a project throughout the year, get to visit local construction projects and have the opportunity to earn scholarship money. The September National ACT will be held at Central this Saturday, Sept. 6. Doors will open at 7:30 in College Corner and we will start right at 8:00. A legal photo ID IS REQUIRED (or photo ID form), and we will have to turn you away without it, so please make sure you have your ID. Please also bring your admission ticket, a calculator, and pencils. See your counselor if you have questions.
College Corner will host Vanderbilt, Embry-Riddle, MTSU, and Tennessee State University this week, Tuesday, Sept. 9 during C and D lunches. Stop by to ask any questions, show your interest, and pick up some information.

CMS Archery will have the beginning of the year parent meeting on September 23rd at 5:30pm in the cafeteria. This meeting is for parents of current team members and those interested in joining the team. Students, please make sure your parents attend this important meeting.
The middle school cross-country team traveled to the historic Hermitage yesterday for a 2-mile race. The girls team finished 10th out of 22. Our top finishers were Adelyn King and Rupal Bajlory. In the boys' race, the team defeated 32 other schools to become MIDSTATE CHAMPIONS - a feat that CMS has not accomplished since 2013. Our top 7 finishers for the boys were: Miles Pinson, Joe Pinson, Hank Edge, Alex Long, Miles Rafacz, Karter Brinkley, and Baird Lane.
The Central Magnet Tigers defeated the Watertown Tigers yesterday led by senior Jensen Spry's 41. The Tigers will play more Tigers next week and some Lions, too.
