Are you a girl interested in STEM, public speaking, and community outreach? Join Potentia 360@CMS! We are partnered with local non-profit Potentia 360 and we are dedicated to empowering female students interested in pursuing a career in STEM fields. We will be hosting speakers to inform members of possible career paths, as well as participating in community service projects. First meeting after school on September 18th from 3:15 to 4:30 in room 347! Bring your friends!
 
Are you a middle school student who loves math? Join the MATHCOUNTS competition team. Come to Tiger Time in room 131 this Friday during your 7th period study time. Dr. Ye from MTSU will be here to coach.
 
CMS Archery will have the beginning of the year parent meeting on September 23rd at 5:30pm in the cafeteria. This meeting is for parents of current team members and those interested in joining the team. Students, please make sure your parents attend this important meeting.
 
Come to the Tiger Talent show on Saturday, September 12th, from 5:30- 8:30 PM, hosted by HS Cheer. Some of Central's most talented students will be performing.  Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at the door, and the link is on the CMS website on the HS Cheer page. Votes will be $1.00 each, so bring some money to vote for your favorites.  Proceeds will help your cheerleaders fund their Nationals trip.   
 
Do you enjoy business, finance, marketing, or hospitality? If so, any aspiring or existing DECA members, make sure to turn in your forms, pay your dues, and secure your spot for competition. You can get the forms from Mrs. Crawley-Harrison in room 210 or go to the CMS DECA club webpage.
 
Fall Picture Day is here!
Photos will be taken in the gym throughout the morning, starting at 8:10, right after announcements.
The full schedule is posted on the CMS homepage, but teachers have a copy as well.
When you enter the gym, you should pick up your photo card from the appropriate table.
Then, get in the shortest line and hand your card to the photographer when it’s your turn.
Once your photo is taken, you should go directly back to class. No lingering in the gym.

Jr. Beta Members, don't forget your signed commitment to attend state convention is due to Ms. Sloan by the end of the day on Monday, September 15. If you did not get a packet, they can be found on the Jr. Beta website or outside of Ms. Sloan's room, room 234.
 
Seniors! The Dollywood trip is scheduled for October 17th. You will receive permission slips in your English classes.
There will be an interest meeting for the middle school and high school CMS swim teams on Thursday 9/18 at 7:00pm via ZOOM. Please see the swim team's website for the link and more information.
 
Walking club meets next week and you have to have a physical. Please send it to Ms. Sissom before our next meeting.
 
We are collecting for AP exams now through October 31.  Students can pay in attendance with cash or check or online with a credit card.  This is for full year AP classes and Semester 1 classes.  There will be another collection in January for semester 2 classes
 
Your high school girls' soccer team had another district win last night beating Lawrence County 5-0. Goals by Sofia Kime, Kristin Dean, Gabby Woods, Claire Parkerson and Lydia Parkerson. Assists by Lydia Parkerson, Claire Parkerson, Kristin Dean, Madisen Stanley and Sarah Zaza. Shutout for the defense, Taylor Ertl and Alyssa Lanier. Way to go Lady Tigers!
