CMS Archery will have the beginning of the year parent meeting on September 23rd at 5:30pm in the cafeteria. This meeting is for parents of current team members and those interested in joining the team. Students, please make sure your parents attend this important meeting.
Congratulations to the middle school cross-country team. The boys' varsity and boys' JV both earned top honors at the Rutherford County Championships. The girls team ran strong too, finishing fourth. Top individuals were Miles Pinson, Joe Pinson, Adelyn King, and Rupal Bajlory in the varsity races. Carson Nipper and Jackson Oring went one-two in the JV race. The teams will travel to Chattanooga this Saturday to participate in the Sectional Meet.
The high school cross country team did a great job at the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky, this past weekend. The team had several personal records. Sawyer Evans came in first for the CMS junior/senior boys' team with a time of 18:35, and Zack Dial came in first for the freshman/sophomore boys' team with a time of 18:45. Aaden Walker came in first for the boys' varsity team with a time of 16:34. Receiving medals for their performances, Rachel Benefield placed 4th overall in the girls' varsity race with a time of 19:59, and Catherine Zubkus placed 20th with a time of 21:01. Way to go, Tigers!
Congratulations to the JV MS Volleyball team on their opening round win in the district tournament Friday evening. This win locked up a winning season for the lady tigers! Come support the Varsity squad as they open their tournament play today at 4:30 at Smyrna Middle School.
