Our robotics teams competed in the Tennessee Regional Championship this past weekend and took home 6 of the 8 awards. Both teams finished in the top 3 in the prelims and made it to the finals where they won the championship.
The teams won the following awards:
Showcase Award for the best video and notebook
Excellence Award for best overall team
Alliance Champion Award for winning the Championship
Top Score Award,
Professors Award for community involvement and
Engineering Award for innovative design.
The team travels to ETSU in March for the National Championships.
Over 600 students across Middle Tennessee auditioned for the MTVA Middle School Honor Choir. Central Magnet had 11 students selected for the Middle School Honor Choir, which is most of any Rutherford County School and 5th most in all of Middle Tennessee. These students will get to perform with the strongest choral singers in Middle Tennessee this February.
Congrats to all who auditioned, and congratulations to the following students for being selected:
6th Grade -  Corbin Hines and Margaret Stewart
7th Grade - Nora Beth Humphries, Radha Amraotikar, and Keller Lewis
8th Grade - Makayla Price, Annabelle Harper, Molly Trout, Ashton Stephenson, Dominic Williams, and Noah Murphy
Freshman Lyndsi Weber is leading a drive to collect coats, blankets, hats, gloves and other new and gently used winter items for the homeless in Murfreesboro. You may drop these off in the labeled bin in the front lobby. Donations may be turned in now through Friday, November 21.
It’s time to get ready for one of the most exciting events of the year – the 2025-2026 Homecoming Variety Show! Whether you sing, dance, act, juggle, or have a unique talent to share, we want YOU to be part of the show!
We will have two separate shows (one for middle schoolers and one for high schoolers) that both take place during the school day on Homecoming Day – Friday, January 16, 2026.
To apply - Complete this Microsoft Form that was emailed to you via your class distribution list.  The deadline to submit this form is Friday, November 21st.  After submitting the form, you’ll receive an email with a link to submit your audition video. Make sure you pay attention to all of the requirements for the audition video listed on the Padlet. The deadline to submit your audition video is Friday, December 12th.
We’re looking for a wide variety of acts, so don’t be shy—this is your chance to shine and have fun! If you’ve got a talent, we want to see it!  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Dr. Hines or Mr. Mears. We can’t wait to see what you bring to the stage!"

Middle School Track and Field will hold a mandatory parent meeting on Wednesday, November 19th at 6pm in the senior cafeteria. The meeting will cover practice, schedules, and important information for the season. Please see Coach J. Burns in room 132 or Coach Andrews in room 241 for more information.

Your Middle School Lady Tigers defeated Thurman Francis last night 43-20 in a balanced team effort.  Linley Lapointe led all scorers with 13 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks, Lydia Luna had 8, Avery Davis and Lena Cloud scored 6 each. Sadie Craig and Sydney Jennings finished out the scoring with 5 each.  The JV girls also secured another win in a close 16-15 victory.  The Middle School teams will take a break until after Thanksgiving and then will be on the road against Community for their next game.
