Airplane fanatic? NASA fan? Mr. Leach would like to invite anyone who has attended Aerospace Club this year to visit the club website and learn more details about two upcoming events. The club is taking a field trip to an aviation career expo at MTSU in March. Then in April, we will visit the wind tunnels and test facilities at Arnold Air Force Base. PLEASE get the necessary paperwork to Mr. Leach no later than March 20 to attend. Again, full details for both trips can be found on the Aerospace Club website.
Rising Juniors & Seniors: This is the last week to apply for membership to National English Honor Society! As an honor organization, we work to serve literacy needs in our community while improving our own literacy skills for college. Applications can be found on the NEHS club website. The Central Magnet Tigers took 2 of 3 from Smyrna in their series. The Tigers won in extra innings 7-4. Braylon Dowell’s bunt single drove in Benson Reavis to give the Tigers the lead in the 8th. Riley Flora picked up the win throwing 3 shut out innings in relief and striking out 5. Braylon Dowell and Henry Long both had two hits. The Tigers stole 9 bases in the win. The Tigers will play on Friday versus Hume Fogg.
The Middle School Boys' Soccer Team tied LaVergne 1–1 on Wednesday night on the road. LaVergne’s JV defeated our JV team 1–0. The Tigers play again next Tuesday at home against Blackman. Come out and support them!
The high school softball team drop day 9 to 1 decision on Wednesday night to an up-and-coming Battle Creek grizzlies team. Rachel Plondke and Charlie Denney battled in the circle only giving up one earn run each. Senior Haley Mangrum picked up the RBI and a triple. Sophia Crossdale shipped in two hits. The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Friday night with a trip to Laverne before returning home next week.
Central JV baseball picked up a win last night on the road at Shelbyville 9-5. The tigers showed a lot of heart capturing the win with 8 available players. Tristram Carey drove in four runs on two hits. Lawson Carlisle pitched four innings striking out seven. Caden Odom, JT Reed, Jackson Spraggins, and Bryson Jordan each contributed hits for the tigers. Congrats guys!
