Attention 8th Graders! It is YOUR time to celebrate! Please join your classmates in celebrating the end of Middle School with your 8th Grade Formal on Monday, May 4th from 6:30-9:30 PM at Legacy Farms. Tuesday, May 5th is and Admin Day. Tickets are $40 and INCLUDE dinner! They can be purchased through Venmo (code sent via email) OR bring cash or check FRIDAY during Pig-Out to buy at the table there! Ticket sales end April 17th, so don't miss out!
Over Spring Break, Central Magnet Choir competed in the 2026 Festival Disney Choral Festival, performing against choirs from across the country for scoring, rating and feedback. Central received a Superior Rating (highest possible rating) and was ranked 2nd in their AA Class with a score of 96/100! This is an incredible achievement, especially as these students only rehearsed once a month since August! Congrats to the Central Magnet Choir students!
Congratulations to Haley Sessoms; she scored a magna cum laude on the National Latin Exam.  This exam is taken by students in over 50 countries.
Kudos to Ms. Burns, Mr. Napper, Ms. Smithson, Ms. Overcast, Ms. Counter, Ms. Givens, Mr. McClellan, Ms. Swartz-Krautheim, and Dr. Hines for their contributions and support in preparing our CMS students for the math competition at MTSU yesterday.  Our students showed up and showed out with 28 of our 43 competitors finishing in the top 20 in their subject categories.  Congratulations to our 2nd place finishers, Ivy Liu in Algebra 1, Jayden Hwang in Geometry, and Joshua Newby in Pre-calculus.  Outstanding 1st place finishes were awarded to AJ Jain in Algebra 2 and Landon Allen in Precalculus.  Thank you to all participants for their excellence in representing Central at the competition.

Are you a rising Junior or Senior who loves science? Join Science National Honors Society. Applications for both membership and officers can be found on the CMS SNHS website.
Before spring break, middle schoolers Amaan Jemsheer, Anhad Jain, Lekisha Gupta, and Srivastava Yaddanapudi rocked the Middle Tennessee Science & Engineering Fair at Belmont University, earning 1st place overall! They also captured 2nd place at the RCS STEM Expo at MTSU. Let’s give them a big congratulations for an amazing job!
The High School Girls Basketball Team will be having tryouts for current Central Magnet students. The date is May 13th from 3:30-5:30pm. Make sure to have a completed physical and all paperwork updated into final forms. If you have any questions, please see Coach Bush

The Tiger baseball team moved into first place in district play with a 7-3 win over Dekalb County. The Tigers got a lead off triple from Braylen Dowell that helped ignite the Tiger’s four run first. Henry Long went 2 for 3 and drove in 3 runs. Benson Reavis was also 2 for 3  on the night. Jon Mical Courtney pitched a strong 6 and 2/3 innings to get the win. The Tigers will travel to Community on Thursday looking to extend their winning streak.
The high school men's soccer team moved to 2-0 in district last night with a 1-0 win over Giles Co.  Jacob Gardner scored the game winner off a beautiful setup from Ike Thompson.  Come out tomorrow night and catch the battle for 1st place in district as the boys take on Tullahoma here at Central at 5pm.
The Middle School Boys Soccer Varsity Team defeated Smyrna Middle 5–0. Ritesh Kumar scored two goals, with Ugo Eze, Thang Khai, and Luke Jones adding one each. Ryland Doland and the Tiger defense earned another clean sheet.
The Central Magnet HS track team had great performances at Oakland last night! Cadence Upham and Cooper Godbey scored the Tigers points in discus. Danika Shiomitsu placed 6th in long jump. Chuk Obi got first place in hurdles and high jump. In the 2 mile race, Rachel Benefield placed first for the girls, while Blake Nutter placed 2nd, Albert Denton 6th and Lincoln Nickerson 8th. Boys 4x8 scored 1st and girls were 3rd place. Nate Dyer scored first in the mile, Sawyer Evans 5th, Catherine Zubkus 5th and Rachel Benefield 6th. Parker Ward placed first place in the 800m race, and Nate Dyer in 4th. The boys throwers had an amazing time in a 4x1 and placed in 7th, and the boys 4x4 placed 3rd.
HS Cheer will sell smoothies on Friday.
