Library books are all due immediately. Please turn them in and clear your accounts. See your English teachers or the librarians to see if you have books checked out. 

 

AP late testing will be this Wednesday through Friday.  If you registered for a late test report to Guidance ten minutes before your scheduled exam.  The exam schedule is posted outside of Guidance.

 

There will be a meeting for any rising junior or senior interesting in going to Europe this Sunday May 21st at 4:00 in Mr. Cato's room. Please bring a parent with you if possible. If you can't attend the meeting, please see Coach Kirksey or Mr. Cato for information. 

 

Anyone who received an invitation to high school awards night should meet in the auditorium at the beginning of 6th period.  

 

Do you want to visit a volcano, zip line thorough the rain forest canopy and white water raft in Central America. If so, the physics and biology clubs are offering a 10 day excursion to Costa Rica in June of 2018. An interest meeting will be held on this Thursday, May 18th in the cafeteria at 7:30 pm. See Mr. Burns or Mr. Horton for more details if you cannot attend.

 

The High School Men's Soccer team competes in the Region Semifinal this evening at Notre Dame High School  in Chattanooga. The game begins at 7PM EST.

 

Your Central baseball team defeated CCS 6-1 to advance to the region final on Wednesday. James Touchton got the win pitching 5 innings and striking out five. This was Touchton's third win on the mound in his career in a region semifinal for the Tigers. Chris Johnson pitched two scoreless innings in relief for the save. Dylan Jenkins was 2/4 with 2 RBI. Patrick Norman was 2/3 with 3 runs scored. Hunter Jones was 1/3 with his 7th home run of the year. The Tigers will travel to Signal Mountain for the region championship on Wednesday. 

 

The men's and women's individual region tennis tournament took place yesterday at the Champions Club in Chattanooga.

In doubles action the Men's team of Chase Owens and Nathan Zou were defeated by the doubles team from Notre Dame 1-6 and 2-6.

The doubles team of Megan Scott and Sally Smith were defeated by the #1 seeded doubles team from Notre Dame by a score of 5-7 and 3-6. 

The doubles team of Macy and Molly Speight defeated their doubles opponent from Chattanooga Christian  6-3 and 6-2. They then faced the doubles team from Notre Dame but lost in a close contest 5-7 and 3-6. 

In singles, despite winning the first set 6-3 Mamie Sevier was defeated be her opponent from Chattanooga Christian in the next 2 sets by the scores of 3-6 and 2-6.

 

Congratulations to all the tennis players on a fine season. 

 

 

High school volleyball tryouts are Friday May 26th at 10:30. Returning players should be in the gym at ten to set up. Everyone should bring appropriate forms. See Ms. Morris with questions.
