Congratulations to the 2017-2018 student council.  There will be a run off for senior president between Mark Blackmon and Meredith Craig and also for junior class treasurer between Nolan Ragland and Megan Scott.  Voting is already open and will close at 9:30 this morning.  Your council is as follows:

2016 Middle School Tennis players please see Ms. Angel before the end of the year. 

Anyone interested in playing Middle School Tennis next year, please see Ms. Angel in room 206. Tryouts will be held in the first week back to school.

Students please remember to get the SF1010 form form your Drivers Permit before you leave for summer.  Get the form in Attendance

 

Library books are all due immediately. Please turn them in and clear your accounts. See your English teachers or the librarians to see if you have books checked out. 

 

 

There will be a meeting for any high school student interesting in going to Europe this Sunday May 21st at 4:00 in Mr. Cato's room. Please bring a parent with you if possible. If you can't attend the meeting, please see Coach Kirksey or Mr. Cato for information. 

 

 

 

Do you want to visit a volcano, zip line thorough the rain forest canopy and white water raft in Central America. If so, the physics and biology clubs are offering a 10 day excursion to Costa Rica in June of 2018. An interest meeting will be held on this Thursday, May 18th in the cafeteria at 7:30 pm. See Mr. Burns or Mr. Horton for more details if you cannot attend.

 

 

Sixteen members of the CMS Chess Program played in US Chess SuperNationals over the weekend at Gaylord Opryland Hotel. With 5,577 players from 49 states it was the largest Chess event in history. Out of this throng of talented competitors, three Central students won individual trophies in their divisions, and two of our teams earned team trophies!

11th grader, Eric Ramsay won 3rd place out of 490 players for the K-12 under 1600 division. His team took 36th place, and included Morgan Elrod-Erickson, Joshua Stueckel, Micah Warren, and Edgar Lozano.

9th grader, Chandler McCook secured 13th place out of 220 players for the K-12 under 800 division. Other members of Chandler’s team were Meleah Lanier, Eli Barlar, Lisbeth Lozano, and Miguel Beristain. This Central team came in 10th place in the NATION!!!

Joshua Guaz won 35 place out of 379 players in the K-8 under 750 division. His team came in 24th place and included Charlie Mack, Luke Duran, Nathaniel Carter, and Matthew Feragola. We are so proud of all of our players – they rank among the best in the United States! GO CENTRAL CHESS!!!

 

The high school men's soccer team will play Merrol Hyde this evening at 7 PM for the district Championship.  The match will be at Merrol Hyde High School in Hendersonville.

 

If you are in Coach Kirksey's drivers ed class, you may now pick up your certified trained driver cards in the front office. 

 

 

Dance Team clinic is tomorrow and tryouts are Monday. Both from 3:15-5:30 in the auditorium. If you have any questions, see Ms. Davis.

 

 

High School students that were on Honor Roll this year will receive their awards Friday - 9th and 10th in English Classes and 11th in their 6th and 7th Computer Thesis Rooms.

If you were invited to HS Awards Night and were unable to attend please come by room 100 - Ms. Smithson's room to pick up your award as soon as possible!!
