MTSU is hosting their annual Entrepreneurship Fair on November 15, 2017.  Students will be given a chance to showcase and present their business concept to industry leaders from the business community.  

 

Applications are available in Room 210. 

 

DECA membership applications are available in Room 210 for any high school student interested in joining DECA.

 

Any junior that is interested in being on prom committee needs to come to Mrs. Fluharty's room (room 230) during E Rotation next Thursday.  We will be discussing themes for this year's prom, so come with some ideas!

 

Any middle school student that is interested in trying out for cheerleading needs to pick up an informational packet in Mrs. Culp's room.  Packets must be picked up this week!!  The clinic for tryouts will be next Monday and Tuesday from 3:15-5:30. There will also be a mandatory parent meeting Monday night following the clinic, and all paperwork needs to be brought to that meeting.

 

Freshmen:  If you are interested in running for a class officer position, you must attend a pre-election meeting this Friday.  The meetings will be held in Mrs. Hines' room (102) at 7:30 am, during "C" and "D" lunches, and at 3:10 pm.  You only have to attend one of the meetings.  If you have any questions, see the student council website, Mrs. Hines, or Mr. Nichols. 

 

Seniors:  the state is paying for you to retake the ACT at school on October 17th.  You do not need to register for this through the ACT web site, it will be given at CMS like the spring test.

 

MTSU is hosting a College Fair on Sept 6th at 6:00 in the student union.  There will be over 40 colleges present.

 

There will be a meeting for anyone interested in joining the bowling team this Friday August 11th in room 218. The meeting is open to anyone in grades 8-12. It will be over by 3:30, please arrange for transportation. 

 

Attention students interested in swim team! There will be an informational meeting for any students interested in our middle school or high school swim teams next Monday, August 14, at 3:15pm in Mrs.Cook's room (242). 

 

Any Middle School student interested in trying out for Middle School cheer should pick up a try out packet from Mrs. Fluharty in room 230 by Friday.  Tryout clinic is Monday the 14th with a parent meeting after the clinic and tryouts are Tuesday the 15th after school in the cafeteria.

 

Attention all students. Central Chess Program is having an Open Chess Practice on Monday from 3:15 until 4:30. Beginners and experienced players are all welcome. Chess will meet in room #131. See Mr. Horton if you need more information. An informational parent meeting will follow at 4:30. We hope to see you Monday at 3:15.

 

The girl's High School soccer team travel to Warren Co. for preseason play.  The girls won 4-2.  Hannah Tritschler and Ella Chesney each scored twice.  Lauren Sanchez and Madison Beckman had assists.

 

Come out after school today at 4pm as the girls take on MTCS here at Central.  There will be no gate to attend.

 

If Middle School tennis tryouts get rained out today please come see Miss Angel in room 206 for the newly scheduled day.

 

The Middle School Girl's Soccer team ended it preseason with a victory over Thurman Francis.  The Varsity won 5 to 1.  Lila Mae Skidmore, Zoe London, Sydney Cuneo each score a goal while Ashleigh Clark scored 2.  Assists were made by Maria Kime, Taylor Brigham and Zoe London.  Ashlynn Jones had 6 saves, while Maddie Degnan had 2 and Mikayla Harris had one save.  The Varsity girls end the preseason with a win and a tie. 

 

The JV Team won 7 to 0.  Reily Gusman and Addison Savely each had two goals while Ashlyn Mills, Emmaline Whitt and Ayana Perry each had one goal.  Ashlynn Mills also had an assist.  Maddie Degnan had 2 saves. The JV Team ended the preseason with 2 wins and no losses.  

 

The regular season for the middle school starts Tuesday August 15th here against Blackman Middle.  Game time is 4:15.
