6th, 7th, and 8th graders that are interested in being a part of the Lego League at Central Magnet, please stop in Mrs. Huffman's office and sign up.  Her office is upstairs next door to Ms. Quinn's and across from Ms. Nicole Davis.

 

Juniors and Sophomores:  The applications for 2018 Governor's School are now available.  See the Guidance High School page for details.

 

There will be an information session in Nashville for Harvard, Duke, Georgetown, Pennsylvania and Stanford on Oct 3rd.  See the guidance college page for a link to register.

 

 

September 6th is the last day to change class levels or drop a class for a study hall.

 

Middle school book club attendees:  Please remember to turn in your dues by this Friday.

 

All students attending the author visit this afternoon should report straight to the auditorium for seventh period.  If you need to check the list to confirm you are attending, the students attending will be posted in the library.  

 

Juniors, the vote for prom theme will take place today (Wednesday) from 8-1:30.  Please go to the link on the school webpage under "more news" to vote for this year's prom theme.  Remember, voting ends at 1:30, and the selected theme will be announced this afternoon.   

 

Juniors:  The LEDA Scholar program is for low income students to gain entrance to highly selective colleges.  The link to the application is on the Guidance High School page.

 

All juniors will report to the auditorium for advisory today.

 

Middle School Student Council will be meeting in Mrs. Davis' room, Room 219, on Thursday during club time.  If you are interested in being in student council this year, please make sure to attend the meeting. We will be discussing elections, spirit week, and our first service project for this year!!

 

The will be an interest meeting for parents and students for the Science department trip to Costa Rica in June of 2018. The meeting will be in the senior cafeteria on MONDAY September 11th at 6pm. Please see Mr. Burns in room 132 for more information if you cannot make the meeting.

 

 

Attention Seniors:

 

Remember Jostens will be here on Friday during C and D lunches in the auditorium to take your orders.  Please see Coach Nichols if you lost your packet or did not receive one last week.  Mark your calendars now and plan accordingly!

Parnassus Bookstore will be bringing Peggy the book bus on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00.  The bus will be parked in the front lot and available for anyone who would like to shop.  You do not have to attend the author visit on Wednesday to purchase books.  Be sure to plan to come! (pics attached if you can show 😉)

 

 

All Smart Card money is due by Friday the 8th.

 

Miss Mucks advisory will be split today. Please see the list on the door to see whether you should report to miss Mucks room  or Ms. Cook's room .

 

The Meeples Club will be meeting directly after school today until 4:15pm. Come out and have a good time!

 

 

Attention high school students. If you are interested in ordering a letter jacket, please see your coach or Coach Kirksey for information. Balfour will be here next Thursday, the 14th,  at 9:30 to take take orders. They will also have samples to try on.

 

The Interact Club will be meeting directly after school on September 14th from 11:15 - 11:45 in room 219. 

 

The meeting will consist of electing officers and discussing service projects for the year.

The Middle School girls soccer team plays today at Stewarts Creek.  Game time is 4:15 with the JV game immediately after.  Please come out and support the Lady Tigers.
