*The final round of the National Geographic Bee is today, during 1st period in the auditorium. The ten finalists should report to the auditorium immediately after announcements.
*Tickets for the homecoming dance will be on sale during B, C, and D lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Seniors can attend free of charge. The dance is from after the basketball game until 11:00 pm and is for high school students only.
*All Math Team participants going to the IML next Thursday, February 1st, need to see Mrs. Pigg in rm 116 this week.
*The SE-YA book festival is right around the corner. If you are a high school student interested in attending, please see Ms. Morris for information. And if you are a middle school student, please see Ms. Cindy Davis for information.
*Any girls in grades 9-11 interested in a Leadership conference at Lipscomb, see their Guidance Counselor.
*JUNIORS (rising seniors) who have not yet scheduled, there is a new set of dates on Sign Up Genius. Please pick a time that works for you to choose your classes with your counselor. Do not wait to be called for your appointment, you can just come to Guidance a few minutes before your time. We will finish up this week with rising seniors.
*This semester, Middle School Youth in Government will be offered during B rotation. This club is open for 6th, 7th and 8th graders interested in knowing how our State Government works and how you can be a part of it. Each year, the YMCA of Middle Tennessee sponsors Youth in Government conferences. Students can learn about the legislative process by drafting and debating bills to the Tennessee State Legislature. If you are interested or have any questions, see Mr. Ruess in Room 226.
*If you are not a member of National Honor Society and you would like to join, please stop by Mr. Windham's room to pick up an application. You will not be receiving personalized invitations this year as was previously announced this week. So you have a small window of time in which to retrieve and submit your application. Membership is available to only seniors and second semester juniors. Should you have any questions, feel free to email Coach Nichols or Mr. Windham.

*Sixth grader Gabriel Redferin won the 2018 CMS National Geographic Bee yesterday, becoming the youngest winner in school history! In a very competitive final round, Gabriel and Alexander Norwood advanced to the championship round, where it took several tiebreaker questions for Gabriel to finally get the win. Congratulate our new champion when you see him today!
