*Congratulations to both our teams this weekend for placing 1st in the Winter Shootout on Saturday.  Individually, in the MS Female division, Isabella Hire placed 3rd.  In the HS divisions, Alison Blanton was the 2nd place Female, and Connor Smathers was the 1st place Male

 

*Reminder that National Spanish Exam money is due today.  Be sure to turn it in to Mrs. DaSilva for levels 1 and 2 in her office, room 134, or to Mrs. Pinson for levels 3-AP, room 208. No payments will be accepted late!

 

*Counselors will begin scheduling current sophomores (rising juniors) on Tuesday, January 30. Please sign up for an appointment via the Sign Up Genius link that was emailed or that is on the Guidance webpage. Please do not wait to be called for your appointment, come to the Guidance office just before your scheduled time.

 

*The Ned McWherter scholarship application is available on the Guidance webpage and is due Feb. 15  . Please see your Counselor with questions.

 

*Seniors:  The JPJ minority scholarship is available on the Guidance Financial aid page.  It is due March 16.

 

*High school girls interested in science, technology or engineering, there is a one day conference at the Adventure Science Center Feb 17.  See the Guidance High School page for a link to the application.

 

*Congratulations, HS Region Qualifiers, on a fantastic swim meet last Friday! Many Central Magnet high school swimmers dropped time in each of their events and several new team records were made.

Central won 15th place for combined team score, out of over 50 teams.

The girls' Medley Relay won 11th place.

The girls' 200 freestyle relay won 8th place.

The boys' 200 freestyle relay won 11th place.

Anna Weis won 14th place in 200 freestyle and 8th place in 100 butterfly.

Kailey Orr won 5th place in 50 freestyle and 4th place in 100 backstroke.

Nick Gill won 11th place in the 500 freestyle.

Congratulations, also, to Marlee Bratsch, Vinny Cantrell, and Morgan Ouellette for qualifying for State in their individual events.

The middle school swim team also had their Region meet this past weekend in Nashville. All Central Magnet middle school region qualifiers swam well and dropped time in their individual events. Congratulations to Caden Sweetman for returning to the finals session Saturday night to secure 4th place in the 200 IM and 3rd place in the 100 backstroke. The middle school swim team will compete this Saturday at Lavergne HS in the Rutherford County Middle School meet. Wish these swimmers the best of luck if you see them around school this week!

 

*"Rho Kappa members.  We will have a mandatory Wednesday morning at 7:15 in Dr. Edge's room.  We will register for National History Day and finalize our roster.  Bring your dues to this meeting. If you have any questions, come by or email Dr. Edge."

 

*The Lady Tigers lost to a good Nolensville team on Friday night 49-16. Ashley Dyer returned from injury to lead the team in scoring along with Anaiyah Smith. They will play at home against Marshall County tonight.

 

*All Middle School Boys Soccer Players need to meet after school in Coach Ruess's room 226.

 

*Congratulations to Addison Melton who made the Rutherford County All-Tournament middle school girls basketball team.

 

*Congratulations to Reuben Savage for wining the CMS Poetry Out Loud Competition! Preston Ford had a strong performance as well and finished in the runner-up position.

Reuben will represent Central at the state competition in Nashville on March 10th.
