*Senior girls:  we have added two scholarships for girls to our web page, Dymon in the Rough and Beauty & Brains.

 

*Prom tickets go on sale next week!!!  Tickets are sold March 5th-16th during C & D lunches.  Tickets are $50 each.  If you are bringing a date who does not attend Central Magnet you MUST have your completed forms as well as a copy of your dates photo ID in order to purchase tickets.  If you have questions about purchasing tickets please see Mrs. Winton or Mrs. Morris.

 

*The middle school science olympiad competed at the regional tournament at MTSU this past weekend and placed 3rd overall and received a bid to the state competition at UT Knoxville in April.  All of our participants placed in their events and received medals.  Most events students placed in the top 3.  Congratulations!

 

*“Congratulations to Zoe Naylor and Jenna Meyers for their successful vocal auditions into the TN Governor’s School for the Arts. We know you will represent the Central Magnet Music Department wonderfully and we wish you all the best this summer.”

 

*It’s not too late to sign up for the Fall Break College Tour to Boston and New York! EF travel group is currently running a $100 referral bonus! We will have a meeting on Monday, March 5 at 6:00 in the auditorium for anyone who is interested. See Guidance or the Guidance webpage for questions.

 

*Science National Honor Society is offering science tutoring sessions on Tuesdays in Mr. Cowart’s room and Thursdays in room 131 during C and D lunch. Please come by if you need any help in your science classes.

 

* Also, the promposal deadline has been extended to this Friday at 3:00.

 

*Reminder that Boys and Girls State resumes and essays are due to Guidance this Friday, March 2nd.  Please email Ms. Gerhart both your resume and essay.

 

*The Central Magnet Men's basketball team defeated Waverly Central on Saturday night 76-67 to advance to the semi-finals of the Region 6 tournament.

The Tigers were led in scoring by Nick Hamlett with 27 points, Will Carver with 18 points and Steph Laird with 16 points.

The Tigers will take on the Fairview Yellow Jackets at 6:00 pm on Tuesday night in the semi-final game which will be played at Nolensville High School. The Tigers would like to thank the Stripe Squad for the fantastic crowd that was represented on Saturday night.

 

*Congratulations to our teams at the Mossy Oak Tournament.  The MS placed 1st with a school record score of 3307. The HS placed 2nd just 5 points behind WCHS.  Individually, the CMS archers that finished in the top 5 were Nathan Blunkall placing 4th, Blake Spencer placing 2nd in the MS Male division, Isabella Hire placing 1st in the MS Female division, Kayleigh Corban placing 4th, Alison Blanton placing 2nd in the HS Female division and Connor Smathers placing 1st in the HS Male division.  Connor Smathers was the overall Male Tournament Champion with a score of 293 out 300. In the 3-D tournament, Mikayla Harris placed 1st in the MS Female division and Alison Blanton placed 3rd in the HS Female division.  The archery teams travel to White County High School next Saturday to shoot.
