*State Finals on Saturday in Cookeville:

Eric Ramsay tied for 2nd-4th and goes on to the playoffs (since TN Tech awards scholarships for 1st and 2nd).  Eric won the first game but eventually lost in the second round.  So, 3rd in the State in High School.  This competition had many players with 10+ years of competitive chess experience, countless hours of private instruction, and elite chess camps.  Quite an accomplishment Eric!

And then there is Chandler McCook.  16th in the State in High School in only his 2nd year of playing chess.

Great job CMS Chess!

*The Central Magnet Men's basketball team ended their season last night with a 41-38 loss to the Fairview Yellow jackets.  With the loss the Tigers finish 19-14 on the season.  The Tigers were led by Nick Hamlett's 14 points and Will Carver's 9 points.  Congratulations to the Tigers on an outstanding season.
