*A fire can breakout with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be. Smoke detectors should be located on every floor of your home and near all places that you and your family sleep.  Smoke detector batteries should be changed on a regular basis.

 

*Any senior that is going to major in math at UTC, see your counselor about a scholarship opportunity.

 

*Seniors:  The Work Ethic Distinction from the Chamber of Commerce is due to the counselor’s March 15. You must submit all documentation with the application.

 

*Science National Honor Society is offering science tutoring sessions on Tuesdays in Mr. Cowart’s room and Thursdays in room 131 during C and D lunch. Please come by if you need any help in your science classes.

 

*Garden club meet in front of the auditorium today during club time.

Today's SNHS meeting will include several items of interest as well as officer nominations for next year. It is important that you attend.

ALL CENTRAL STUDENTS are invited to hear our guest speaker from Vanderbilt University on Wednesday afternoon at 3:15 in the Senior Cafeteria. Dr. Waterson heads a research team that applies synthetic and medicinal chemistry to questions of biological importance. As Research Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Chemistry and a medicinal chemist exploring cancer drugs, His lecture should interest students pursuing chemistry, medicine, academic research, or biology based programs. We hope to see you at 3:15 in the Senior Cafeteria on Wednesday."

 

*SE YA book festival students attending the field trip on Friday, March 9:

High School will meet in the college corner at 9 A.M.

Middle School will meet in the upstair's teacher lounge at 9 A.M.

Either pack your lunch or bring money to buy lunch. We will be walking to MTSU so wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket. Any questions should be directed to Ms. Morris for high school and Cindy Davis for middle school.

 

**The Middle School Boys Soccer team defeated DeKalb County Middle School in their preseason game Friday, 3 to 2.  Christian Scott, Will Kassenbaum, and Clay Thompson each had a goal.  Will Palmer had 6 saves, while Isiah Richard had 2 saves.  The Team will begin it first regular season game today at Stewarts Creek.  Game time is 4:15.
