*“Congratulations to the middle school Chorister singers who received awards of “Excellence in Performance” and “Superior in Sight Reading” yesterday at the Middle TN Choral Festival. They also received the highest performance score of all the Central Magnet choirs this year!  We are very proud of you - it’s a great day to be a singing Tiger!”

 

*Any senior that is going to major in math at UTC, see your counselor about a scholarship opportunity.

 

*Seniors:  The Work Ethic Distinction from the Chamber of Commerce is due to the counselor’s March 15. You must submit all documentation with the application.

 

*High School Students:  Registration for AP exams ends March 16.  If you are going to take an AP exam in May, you must take your payment and registration form to attendance before 3:00 on March 16th.

 

*Science National Honor Society is offering science tutoring sessions on Tuesdays in Mr. Cowart’s room and Thursdays in room 131 during C and D lunch. Please come by if you need any help in your science classes.

 

*SE YA book festival students attending the field trip on Friday, March 9:

High School will meet in the college corner at 9 A.M.

Middle School will meet in the upstairs’ teacher lounge at 9 A.M.

Either pack your lunch or bring money to buy lunch. We will be walking to MTSU so wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket. Any questions should be directed to Ms. Morris for high school and Cindy Davis for middle school.

 

*Central's 2018 National Geographic Bee Champion Gabe Redferin has qualified for the State Competition on April 6 at Tennessee State University. Congratulate Gabe when you see him and wish him luck!

The Central Bass Magnets had a good day on Center Hill Lake Saturday where Warren Smith and Jonathan Pendergrast reeled in 5.03 pounds moving them into the top 20% of the 2017-2018 High School BASS Nation standings. Students, if you have access to a bass boat, and an interest in competitive fishing, you should contact Coach Burns about joining the Bass Magnets next year.

 

*The boys soccer team tied White House last night in their first game of the season.  Jared Ball scored for the varsity.  The JV won 6-0.  The Varsity plays Shelbyville this Friday night at Siegel Park.

 

**The middle school golf team opened their season against Blackman Middle yesterday afternoon. They battled the wind and the setting sun only to fall short in the team match. However, Ryan Thweatt and Caden Greene were able to win their round. The Tigers will play again next Tuesday at Champions Run.
