Any senior that is going to major in math at UTC, see your counselor about a scholarship opportunity.

*Seniors:  The Work Ethic Distinction from the Chamber of Commerce is due to the counselor’s March 15. You must submit all documentation with the application.

*High School Students:  Registration for AP exams ends March 16.  If you are going to take an AP exam in May, you must take your payment and registration form to attendance before 3:00 on March 16th.

*Science National Honor Society is offering science tutoring sessions on Tuesdays in Mr. Cowart’s room and Thursdays in room 131 during C and D lunch. Please come by if you need any help in your science classes.

*SE YA book festival students attending the field trip on Friday, March 9:

High School will meet in the college corner at 9 A.M.

Middle School will meet in the upstairs’ teacher lounge at 9 A.M.

Either pack your lunch or bring money to buy lunch. We will be walking to MTSU so wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket. Any questions should be directed to Ms. Morris for high school and Cindy Davis for middle school.

*BAKE SALE to benefit the Hispanic Heritage Center here in Murfreesboro! Snacks and drinks priced at $1 will be available in College Corner before school on Thursday beginning at 7:15, and then for sale in Ms. Pinson's room until sold out. Bring some money and enjoy a snack!

 

*When we made the announcement about last weekend's YIG conference, we neglected to mention that Sophia Kennan won Outstanding State person and Jack Zhao will be Attorney General, bringing our award total to 13 and our officer positions to 12.  

*After Prom tickets go on sale this Friday, March 9.  Tickets will be sold during C and D lunch every day until spring break and are $10 each.  T-shirts will only be included with tickets purchased before spring break.

After spring break, tickets are $15 each and no shirt is guaranteed.  We hope you will make plans now to attend After Prom!  

 

*Wind Ensemble members attending the symphony trip should be in the band room at 5pm with a coat tonight

 

*The Middle School Boys soccer team opened the season at Stewarts Creek after a very tough game lost 1 to 0.  Will Palmer had 9 saves.

 

The Junior Varsity also played a very tough game but lost 2 to 1.  Logan Stojakovich had the goal while Isiah Richard had 3 saves.  

 

The next game will be here today, against Rock Springs. This is Varsity only, game time is 4:15.

 

Congratulations to our teams at the Blazen’ Arrows Tournament at Blackman HS.  The MS placed 3rd.  The HS tied White County HS but placed 2nd on the tie breaker.  Individually, the CMS archers that finished in the top 5 were Nathan Blunkall placing 4th and Blake Spencer placing 3rd in the MS Male division, Connor Smathers placing 3rd in the HS Male division, and Kayleigh Corban placing 3rd and Alison Blanton placing 1st in the HS Female division.  The archery teams will shoot in the County Championship this Saturday at WBMS.

 

 

Mu Alpha Theta is sponsoring a contest involving reciting the digits of pi on Tuesday March 13th. There will be a cash prize for the person who can say the most digits of pi. Please stop by Mrs. Pigg's room before or after school or during C or D lunch to participate.

 

 

High school students:  This is the last week to pay for your AP exams.  Turn in your money and form to Mrs. Hogue in attendance.

 

March 12-23:
After Prom tickets are on sale today through March 23.  Tickets will be sold during C and D lunch are $10 each.  T-shirts will only be included with tickets purchased before spring break. Juniors and seniors do not have to attend the prom to attend After Prom.

After spring break, tickets are $15 each and no shirt is guaranteed.  We hope you will make plans now to attend After Prom! 

 

 

PROM TICKETS ARE ON SALE IN THE CAFETERIA THROUGH FRIDAY.  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PURCHASE TICKETS AFTER THIS DATE.  MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR PAPERWORK FOR AN OUT OF SCHOOL GUEST WITH YOU AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE.  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PURCHASE YOUR DATES TICKETS WITHOUT THIS DOCUMENTATION.  IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS SEE MRS. If you want to compete in the Reciting the Digits of Pi contest, see Mrs. Pigg today during C or D lunch or after school.  There is a cash prize for reciting the most digits of Pi.  We will announce the winner on Pi Day, Wednesday, March 14th!

 

There will not be a computer club meeting this Friday, March 16. However, Mr. Leach needs club volunteers to assist with timing the Pi Run on March 23. Please stop by room 205 and tell Mr. Leach if you can help.

 

Your Tiger baseball team lost to a good Mt. Juliet team 1-0 last night. Patrick Norman pitched 3 scoreless innings striking out 4 and went 2/3 at the plate. Stephan Laird and Hayden Petty also had hits. The Tigers host Tullahoma tonight at 6:00. Student admission is FREE. 

 

The JV soccer team welcomed Siegel High School last night to open the Spring Soccer season.  The team emerged 2-1 winners over Siegel.  Sam Apigian and Julian McMillian scored the goals 

 

The Middle school boys soccer team plays today at LaVergne game time is 4:15.

 

The Lady Tigers beat Eagleville 8-0 in their season debut last night. Faith McCaghren and Kali Penny teamed up for the shut-out. Abby Frazier went 3 for 3, Kali Penny was 3 for 4, and Ashley Dyer went 2 for 3. Alyssa Ward and Ashley Dyer each had tripples. 

 

The Lady Tiger host their first district game against Nolensville at 5:30 tonight a McKnight Park.
