*High school students:  This is the last week to pay for your AP exams.  Turn in your money and form to Mrs. Hogue in attendance.

*Any senior that is going to major in math at UTC, see your counselor about a scholarship opportunity.

*Seniors:  The Work Ethic Distinction from the Chamber of Commerce is due to the counselor’s March 15. You must submit all documentation with the application.

*Nissan is hosting a summer engineering camp.  The application is on the Guidance Summer opportunities web page.

*It’s not too late to sign up for the Fall Break College Tour to Boston and New York! EF travel group is currently running a $100 referral bonus! We will have a meeting on Monday, March 5 at 6:00 in the auditorium for anyone who is interested. See Guidance or the Guidance webpage for questions.

*Attention High School Students:

Central Magnet is rapidly gaining an impressive reputation at the Naval Academy's Candidate Guidance Office.  This Tuesday during club time we will welcome a former Navy Seal who will talk with our students who might be considering the Naval Academy as an option after graduation. All students are welcome, but juniors are especially encouraged if interested.  See Coach Nichols if you have any questions.

*Attention Seniors:

You will be meeting in the auditorium this Wednesday during Advisory to go over important details for what remains of your senior year.  You won't want to miss so please make a note in your schedule.  Get excited!

*Spring Pictures will be from 9 am to 11 am on Monday, March 19th in the gym for high school students and in the auditorium for middle school students.  See Mrs. Head's yearbook website for more specifics on the schedule and to select a customized backdrop.

*Campus School is looking for volunteers  for their Night of the Arts on April 12. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, contact Mrs. Ray or Mrs. Morris.  Their email addresses can be found on Mr. Nichols website under service opportunities.

*After Prom tickets are on sale today through March 23.  Tickets will be sold during C and D lunch are $10 each.  T-shirts will only be included with tickets purchased before spring break. Juniors and seniors do not have to attend the prom to attend After Prom.

After spring break, tickets are $15 each and no shirt is guaranteed.  We hope you will make plans now to attend After Prom!

*PROM TICKETS ARE ON SALE IN THE CAFETERIA THROUGH FRIDAY.  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PURCHASE TICKETS AFTER THIS DATE.  MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR PAPERWORK FOR AN OUT OF SCHOOL GUEST WITH YOU AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE.  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PURCHASE YOUR DATES TICKETS WITHOUT THIS DOCUMENTATION.  IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS SEE MRS. WINTON OR MS. MORRIS. 

There will not be a computer club meeting this Friday, March 16. However, Mr. Leach needs club volunteers to assist with timing the Pi Run on March 23. Please stop by room 205 and tell Mr. Leach if you can help.

*Senior girls:  The Junior League of Murfreesboro has a scholarship for senior girls with a 3.25 or higher.

 

*If you plan to join National English Honor Society this year, you are reminded that applications are due to Mrs. Esberger or Ms. Morris by Monday, the 19th. If you need an application, you should be able to get one from your English teacher, Mrs. Esberger, or Ms. Morris. 

 

*Central's Literary Magazine, Little Magnolia, is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year.

Applications are open to all rising juniors and seniors who are interested and they will be due Friday, April 6th.

*Eighth graders returning to CMS for high school need to schedule a registration appointment with their assigned guidance counselor.  The links can be found on the Guidance web page.  Please come to Guidance at your appointment time.

 

*The Murfreesboro Rotary Club is sponsoring a "4 - way Test Speech Contest" at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, April 7th at Adams Place for all Murfreesboro Students.

 

The winner receives $100 and entry into the District competition in Franklin where the winner will receive a $1,000 Scholarship.

*The Murfreesboro Rotary Club is offering a scholarship for graduating seniors in honor of Past District Governor "Slick" Frazer. The goal of the scholarship is to provide financial support to students for academic study while also promoting the goals of Rotary International.

*For members of the MEEPLES Club: 

All members are allowed to vote for another game for the club to purchase. Voting will close NEXT WEDNESDAY!

 

 

*The Central Magnet boys and girls tennis teams both won their district matches yesterday over LaVergne HS by a score of 7 to love.  Boys players Alex Hand, Russell Drowota, Davis Hale, Tom Smith, and Fant Smith all won their matches 8-0.  All girls players won their matches convincingly as well.  Both teams are now 2-0 on the season.  Congratulations Tigers!

 

*The Middle School boys soccer team plays here this afternoon against Smyrna.  Game time is 4:15 with the JV team playing immediately after.  Come out and support the Tigers.
